If you're supposed to grab a lip on the inner portion of the flywheel, I wonder if a ford PS pump pulley tool will work.

I'm on my phone so I can't zoom in enough to tell if there is one.

 

Camper is gone. Only took 4 days. Now the search for the new camper starts. Think I already found one we like.

 

Do campers depreciate as quickly as cars?

@FirstGenVol - I had to get the tool to remove the flywheel on all my Honda singles.

 

Now I'm not one to shit on people's work or welds, as we're all at different experience levels. But when you tell me you can MiG weld pretty well..... And you're fabbing up a load bearing travel arm for a vacuum system, and I see this shit, well I can not not share it. SMH first shift guys.

Has anyone tried to fit this 2nd gen ARB bumper onto their 1st gen? Would it be way too big?

EDIT: The bumper is 4 3/4” wider than OEM. Sticks out a bit too much for my liking.

Have a flywheel puller but can't remember where from. Probably not Amazon given how old it is but looks like there's plenty there to choose from depending on engine size, year, etc. Is

My soldering skills are better than that and I typically don’t solder cause I suck at it.

 

Several people have got a 2nd gen Tacoma ARB bumper to work with some modifications to the mounts. However I would expect a 2nd gen Tundra ARB bumper to need to be cut in half and sectioned, then welded back together and then modifications to the mounts.

 

Looking for chase light ideas.

I've got a spare amber LED pod from Desert Armor that I've been thinking about using as a chase light. My issue is where to mount it. I thought about removing one of the white pods in my BFF bumper that function are auxiliary reverse lights, and placing the amber there on its own switch. But I think it might be too low to achieve desired effect.

What say y'all?

 

Id have to agree with you, I went and checked it out as the price was right. Without modification it would protrude 2 2/8” on each side and I don’t feel like cutting the bumper in half haha. I’ll keep a lookout for a 2nd gen Tacoma one, cheers!

 

Thinking I want to flat bed the truck. Something like an aluminum frame and 2x6 board construction with slots for removable sides. Stock one is in alright condition probably 7/10, some cracked and peeling paint by the passenger taillight and along the top of the bedsides but all the metal is straight and intact. Not sure what the market is like but I have a hunch that I wouldnt break even building the tray and selling the factory one.

 

Welp, I checked on the CR-V and the rear door was just popped open in the pic, so nothing wrong with it. I tossed out an offer of $3,900 on it a few minutes ago, and it was tentatively accepted.

Pointed out it'll need new front struts, star crack in the windshield needs repair, multiple door lock actuator assemblies buzzing, TPMS issues, and headlight housings need replaced hence the offer. One is on board, the other is in the wings waiting to say yes, but I suspect he'll be amicable too.

EDIT: Yep, he accepted.

So it looks like the kids' first car will not be a Toyota/Scion/Lexus as I wanted, but Toyota was about 20-30% more for something in equal condition, so ...

I will say, the aftermarket parts scene on the CR-V specifically - especially the 3rd gen? - seems to be really f'n good. Like, there's even LED projector headlights that are less than $300 complete. It's pretty crazy.

Anyway, will post up what I manage to get done with the kids as we work through it. First order of business will be lock actuators, which means sound deadening and new door speakers "while we're in there".

Have you guys seen all these crazy ass spare tire subwoofers on the market?! You can get goddamn Cerwin Vega 12s that bolt right in there, the center post basically runs right thru the voice coil and they supposedly hammer! JBL and a couple other companies have them too. Some amplified!

Yes. And the market has collapsed for campers. But I won’t buy unless it’s a really good deal. So I was in good shape to sell this one.

If you go back a step or three, is there anything you missed that would relieve something that's holding it in?

 

I know you're an incredibly busy person, but it never would have occurred to me that you wouldn't have constructed a parking pad for it.
