    It's a dodge. You'll have transmission problems.

Is it diesel or gas? Will it be your DD? Needed or wanted?

Have you seen that gear select knob on the dash? That alone takes it out of the running.

If it makes you happy and you really need the options go for it.

One thing I will add is resale value and consider that and the impact down the road. Good luck!

Ram transmission issues have been resolved, and have not heard of any significant issues with gas powered Rams anyway. The 47RE was a junk pos. The 48RE was a huge improvement. Now with the 8 speed, I heard countless times of how nice they are.

I'm no Ram or Dodge fan by any means, and after owning two of them in my lifetime, I'm really hoping it is my last ones ever. All I ever learned about Ram is they donut as cheaply as possible. I don't know about the 2017 models. Haven't kept up with nothing I would ever purchase.

What I do know is this, Toyota makes a great product and stands behind that product most times. My brand new Dodge that the dealership screwed up never stood behind the warranty and tried to get out of everything. I spent more time at the dealership than driving it. My Tundra had very few issues in the 89k miles I beat the shit out of it.

I can't say nothing negative though. I'm posting on a Toyota Tundra forum and own a GMC diesel.

I remember you telling me the Dodge stories to and from rock crawling.

OP, if you’re getting a diesel, look at the GMC’s. Chris’ runs super nice!

Obviously I’m a little biased. That being said, I wouldn’t have a problem leasing a Ram, but I don’t think I would ever own one. Some of the domestics are sweet looking and have some whiz bang features but to me they are like crazy chicks you date when you’re younger. They’re hot and can be a blast at first, but you know they’re gonna give you issues. The Tundra is wife material.

Local Ram dealers have hundreds of trucks sitting on their lots here in NC...no Tundra Pro's at Toyota dealers anywhere.

Slow day at work so here goes.

What isn't misleading is doing a search on autotrader. I just did a search for new trucks and 2 TRD PRO's come up in a 500 mile radius. Same search for a Ram Rebel brings up 698 matches. Some of those matches are upwards of 10K off sticker. Just another Fiat/Chrysler product....IMO. I've owned one, a 2015 2500 for 9 months, and can honestly tell you I will never own another Fiat/Chrysler/Ram/SRT/Jeep product ever!!!! I don't want to bag to much because everyone has had bad experiences with one brand or another but mine was bad enough to never again.

    o_O

    Are you serious about this?

More "bells & whistles" means more possible issues. Though I love the blue tooth, navigation, etc i currently have on my truck....i don't NEED them. I've never understood why people feel they need so much in a vehicle, but that's me. Not only that...what they are charging you for them to be added into the vehicle is a lot more than what it would cost for you to upgrade your vehicle on your own with exactly what YOU want/need.

Besides lower payments and the "bells & whistles" why are you looking at getting a Ram?

And don't forget the value your vehicle may or may not retain....Toyota has one of the highest resale values on the market.
