2.5 gen or turd gen poll

Well, I think we have our answer. It's not the answer I wanted, but the people have spoken.

 

So, how do those of us w/a 2nd Gen or/and a 2.5 (or whatever we are calling it) Gen identify now

 

What happened to giving it a week??

 

So now what do we call 2/2.5 gens now?

 

Voting is still open, but it's decided.

 

It looks a hell of a lot nicer, though.

 

You guys almost convinced me to change my vote but it doesn't look like it will matter now.

I myself prefer the 2 over the 2.5
Like an 08 RCSB 5.7L. hell yeah

 

RCSB definitely looks better but for all other configurations gen 2 looks like an elephant.

fwiw, no one with any self respect or an IQ above 50, considered the 2014 a new gen. It was always the 2nd Gen with a cosmetic refresh.
I've only ever used "2.5" as a reference to the model year range. mostly for parts. But it's easy enough to simply state the specific year Tundra you have and everyone (around here) will instantly know what gen/features, etc.
I consider the new Tundra the 3rd generation and because I'm highly disappointed that they no longer offer a V8, whoever designed the front end was having a seizure, and it's had a ridiculous amount of growing pains,......it has earned being called the "Turd gen".
I'm sorry if my words have hurt anyone.

And it was the opposite for the 1st gens. An 04 AC and an 05 AC look identical, but have different motors and transmissions. Then there's the AC/RC and DC differences. We have like 6 different kinds of 1st gens.

 

I know almost nothing about the 1st gens. my first exposure to one was at work, maybe around 2009ish. someone at work had one and I saw it in the parking lot. I didn't get much info on it other than he loved it. my visual impression was that Toyota did something similar to like the Dodge Dakota. not a tiny truck like an S10, but not 100% full-size. didn't do any real research on trucks until I was in the market for one in 2011. the Tundra was hands down, dollar for dollar, the best half ton on the market at that time. never put much thought into the "gen" stuff. if I hadn't totaled it 3 yrs later, I might still have it.
the "gen" stuff is mostly for ball busting on here. and if it makes a snow flake have a stroke, that's just gravy.

 

Might I suggest an entirely new direction for the 3rd gen? I was thinking 3rd En-gen.

doesn't really matter which 1st gen config,....they're all basically a Dodge Dakota anyway......

 

People forget first gens were the same size as an F150 back in 2000
And we dwarf Dakota's.
