Was suggested to use it in another thread and was looking for advice.
We have a 2024 Tundra SR5 TRD pulling a 2023 Coachmen Clipper loaded is only 3800lbs.

We pulled it 3 hours, just on the ball etc, once with the brother in laws 2020F150 and it was awesome but the wife has high anxiety if it shakes. (like when a truck goes buy or gust etc)... so looking for anything to ease the anxiety!

Expensive for just the sway control, and you still need the WDH.

Was told NOT to use WDH with a trailer under 5000 Lbs?
Do you know of another cheaper product?

My trailer is about 3800 lbs and I use a WDH with it. The WDH keeps the rear of the truck from sagging. I have the Eaz Lift 10,000 lb setup.

A WDH is required over 5,000 isn't the same as forbidden under 5,000. Just make sure it's sized correctly for your trailer.

Said this in one of my first post...

"I think Toyota recommended 5000# was when you should start using a WDH. I've only seen one lightweight WDH for trailers below 6,000#.

One problem with using a WDH on a lighter trailer is you can bend the A frame on the front of the trailer.

It's common for RV dealers to try to sell a 10,000# rated WDH for lighter weight trailers and that increases the chances of bending trailer frames if you hit a big dip in the road or make a steep grade change such as pulling into a gas station."

What truck sags with only 3800lbs? I haven't hooked my Tundra up yet, but I assumed it wouldn't sag... bro inlaws 2020 F150 and My 2020 Subaru Ascent did not sag...

The Fastway E-2 WDH has built in sway control. It works using the friction of the spring bars against the L brackets mounted to the trailer A frame. I may not have been clear on the use of a WDH and bending frames. Using a WDH rated for a much larger trailer increases the chances of bending the trailer frame of a light weight trailer. That's why in the other thread I suggested you consider the 4,000 pound WDH.

You best bet is to try to contact the trailer manufacturer and ask them about the WDH on your combo.

I've seen a few setups similar to the one you have linked and none appeared to do much good to prevent sway due to all the slop in the fittings.

Regardless of what device you chose you will most likely get rocking of the trailer on the highway. Lightweight trailer with single axle and big flat sides will rock. To reduce sway, load for increased tongue weight.

The Fastway E-2 might help the rocking but only slightly. You will probably never see any difference.

I have used similar and they work very well. I had one that I used for a utility trailer and a pop-up camper. Both of them were not well balanced with probably 5% on the tongue (bad idea).

I'm guessing you properly set yours up without any slop of play in the fittings. When I see these friction type sway control I wonder if a HD shock absorber wouldn't work. That is if they work in a horizontal position

Like a steering stabilizer. I bet it would work very well.
Yes, I even went so far as to have special brackets cut for my hitch to play with the ball to ball (trailer vs. sway control) relationship. It makes a difference.....

I also learned that if you have it too tight you can induce a pull in your steering. It will change after every corner :) This was is my Tacoma which had a lot less weight.

They don't fix everything. This was the result of my dad pulling a poorly balanced trailer. Notice what is hangin from the tongue....

My brother-in-law loaded this trailer for their move to Florida. My dad stopped at my house on his way home to adjust his hitch. I told him that he did not have enough weight on the tongue. He thought that he would go slow on the way home (about 15 miles) and then we could re-load it before he left for Florida the next morning. He go on the highway a got it up to 55 when he got passed by a truck and well.....
He walked away from it and it was a single car wreck! The grace of God.IMG00067-20100807-1811.jpg
It takes one bad judgement when towing to wreck a lot!

Reading your whole post. You NEED a WDH! Yes you need one sized and set up correctly for your trailer.
I like my Equalizer but there are several out there that are good.
