18 Months and hit 50K…..running well. Headed out for a cross country trip tomorrow. No real complaints, wish I had the JBL stereo, would have liked the cool headlights but end of the day they light up the road well enough. Replaced the plastic seat thing that breaks, new one starting to crack but dealer said they will take care of it. My service guys says my oil looks good. Drives great and runs great so far.

First dealer visit at 5675 miles for the 5K Toyota Care check-up and tire rotation.
Had the Transmission recall taken care of and....
got my 2nd fob, finally!! I got the notification about a month ago, so it took roughly 6 months from when I got the truck. (Late 12/2023)

In at 2:30 pm, out at 6. Yep, 3-1/2 hours. This was at a really big, really busy dealership.

But, I didn't have to wait for it anyway. Dealer comped me a Lyft ride home, which was nice.
Still had to have my wife drive me back there though.

So there's a little more to this boring story:

As the service writer is bringing the truck out from the service bay to the waiting/delivery bay, he backs into a parking stall, still inside the bay. As he's braking in reverse, the brakes let out a ear piercing squeal that got everyone's attention.
I've had this happen several times before. I'm aware of the TSB for the squealing brakes, but it's not a priority for me.
I back into my garage when I park, so when I pull out forward every morning at Oh-dark-thirty, no squealing whatsoever.

    Long story short:
Service writer's not aware of the TSB. Here, I have a snapshot on my phone with the number.
No thanks, I can look it up in TIS.
Since I'm here, and I obviously have the issue, can we get parts (front pads and rotors) ordered for the fix? Nope, that's not the process.
Need to make an appointment to have it diagnosed by a Tech first, then and only then can parts be ordered. And then make another appointment when the parts come in to actually do the
    work/fix.
:annoyed:Now I remember why I hated going for service at dealerships.

Added this red start button cover today. I like the color just not too sure how I feel about the lettering.

Husky x-act contour liners installed. I have the hard plastic-y ones on my 4Runner and they aren’t nearly as good of a fit. These are great and worth spending more on imo. They cover more and have little to no gaps.

    bruh, wut….

lol this is the cabin filter. Not the intake filter lol.

I have the TRD air intake filters though. And yes, those do make some extra spooly noise but likely hurt MPG for me.

Almost 6000 miles and finally got the tint done.
These might be the first full pictures I've posted of the truck too.

    Tint1.jpg Tint2.jpg Tint3.jpg

    Windshield: 50
    Front Doors: 25
    Rear Doors: 40
    Rear Slider: 30
    Pano Roof: 40

Only had it for two days but what a transformation. I should have had a thermometer in the cab and done a before and after, but the difference is huge.

Tested out my ceramic tint to make sure it was legit. Placed a UV lamp 16” away from window, and tested with window down and then up.

    Down - 342F
    Up - 107F

    Not 100% sure.
Everything painted on the front of the truck by the grill, front fenders/flares, hood, headlights, rocker panels, rear fender flares, and lower rear bedsides all wrapped in Legendary Prime Plus PPF which is self healing and comes with a 12 year warranty. The entire truck was coated with BC 7, a 5+ year ceramic coating. The front and rear side windows, and rear window all had ceramic tint installed. Total price was $2k, would do it again in a heartbeat, Toyota paint is soft.

Still debating on having the ceramic put on the sunroof, but hear there are risks. I would also do the front windshield but am worried about it being to dark at night, even at 70% tint. My sides and back are pretty dark.

It makes a dramatic difference in the Texas heat/sun. I have XPEL PPF on the full hood and bumper, 70% XPEL PRIME XR Plus - Nano Ceramic on windshield, 70% XPEL PRIME XR - rear windows and Sunroof, and 30% on front side windows for $2,000.

I'm feeling pretty good about my w/s at 50%; doesn't seem bad at night.
The owner of the shop that did my tint had 40% on his truck's w/s, and way darker (forgot the %, it was low) everywhere else. I sat in that and it seemed dark IN THE DAYTIME.
    I'd bet you'd be fine at 70%.

$850 +tax on mine. Full ceramic.
Probably $100 less if you don't have/do the Pano roof.

$350 for front (15%) rear (50%) and back window (50%). Almost perfect match.
    $200 for windshield (50%)

absolutely do the windshield. I was going to get Air80 on the front which is 100% clear but has a blue tint. The tint shop strongly recommended I do 50%. And at the last second I had them stop right before they cut the Air80 tint and put 50% on so glad I did.

That’s a great deal! Reputable shop quoted me $1000 for ceramic coating. I did tint for $550 total. PPF on just the front area (big zone) was over $2000.

The local shop here is great, always something interesting being worked on there. Owner also has a huge following on YT (249k subs) so alot of informative detailing stuff there.

Watched my stereo knob fall off. How much of a piece of shit must that knob be…7,279 miles and barely touched. Wonder if they will warranty it.

Tint shop I went to here in Charleston charged me $600-700ish for 5 windows (4 sides and rear) and a strip on the front windshield. They would not tint the pano sunroof as they said they've seen them crack/ break because of the tint.

Huh. Must be a regional/climate thing where we just don't get the same level of sun/heat/angle of the sun up here? The place that did mine has been in business for 20 years and no issues tinting sunroofs. :notsure::notsure::fingerscrossed:
