Pretty common issue with all the later model Toyotas that have those dumb shocks with the legs. Those legs snap if you're too hard on em, especially if you've got hockey pucks. Not sure if it's just Bilstein that does the legs, but I see it on all their later model shocks

I'm tempted to run downstairs and check mine to see what it's got. Box says 47-310049 with shock p/n E4-FD1-Z449B02 and UPC of 651860868752. Looks like this in the stock pics:

Yep, looks identical, box and all. I was referencing pictures, I'm too lazy to dig it all out.

I didn't realize you had the same thing. Installed already?

Yessir. Bottom notch, 650lb springs. Rides like a cadillac.

was it here someone mentioned there being a difference in the blue label billies vs the black label? Might have been 5100's, but if it piqued my interest it might've been the 6112's.

Bottom notch is stock height? Did you repurpose any OEM strut bits, or buy new?

New OEM or aftermarket? If aftermarket, how're they holding up?

I'm going to need to go out and buy tophats and isolators both. My old struts went to the guy who bought my OEM 5-spoke splits.

I bought my 6112s off of rock auto last August and had them installed professionally with all new bolts and top hat, they look great absolutely no problems after 7000 miles. No cracks in the welds. Top notch setting, rides good n tight, not like a caddy.

I used cheap isolators, and it shows. Surface cracks, but still holding up.

Holy shet, looks like OEM tophats alone are ~$90/ea (48609-0C021). Now I see why everyone opts for the KYB kit, at $75 for everything.

Got my rear lift blocks removed and AAL installed. What a colossal pain in the ass! The first side had the center pin stud stuck in the spring perch. Required heat and drilling but finally got it out. The other side had the center pin stuck in the overload leaf. Also require heat and drilling. And 4 drill bits!!
Finally got them installed and bled the brakes. Going in for alignment and full bleed tomorrow.

Got clipped today on my way to work :-(

Guy was going the opposite direction from me, too fast on a poorly banked corner, wet road/light rain and he slid in to me. I saw it coming and swerved hard off the road, definitely avoided a worse accident.

He took full responsibility, hoping to settle it without insurance. I’m pretty inclined to figure out a reasonable cash amount and taking it, it’s a work truck after all with other mild body damage.

the damage isn’t too bad, kinda hard to see in the pics since it’s so dirty, but he hit my rear fender flare on back to the bumper.

I’m trying to decide what sounds reasonable; the flare got slightly torn, as did the mud flap, both can be lived with, the body panel got lightly bent but should bend back, bumper seems okay (has other bends anyway, and rust as you can see), and everything got scraped.

    What do you guys think?

Think it's awesome that's all that happened. Can get a quote at the shop as a reference. Wouldn't be surprised to find the paint work, hard parts, and install was quoted around $3,000, and that the driver's deductible might be $500 or $1,000 as references for what they might be thinking about. I'm guessing the hard parts alone (flare, flap and clips) are many hundreds retail. Looks like the right rear fender flare might be $400+ retail unpainted, but can be purchased cheaper....

Installed LED dome and map lights inside the cab. Extra bright LED reverse lights so I can even see through the tinted topper window. Headlights are on par with new stock LED lights coming out these days, won’t blind everyone but still 3x as bright and before. Amber/yellow LED fog lights. I used mostly Auxbeam products from scamazon and random Chinese lights for the interior. Can provide part numbers if anyone is interested.

    Things of note.
The dust shields for the headlights could be stretched to fit the new LED but I worry about them getting too hot. Lights do not form a perfect seal for headlights and fog. Part of that could be that I accidentally ordered 9006 H10 for fog lights instead of H4, but they work (what would I gain/lose by using the correct H4 lights?). I did not have any issues with everything working despite my now unnecessary superbriteLED motorcycle resistor being in the mail. A YouTube install video convinced me it was mandatory and I purchased before I tested the lights. Could be due to the headlights not being the baddest/brightest they draw less power or some other reason I don’t understand.

Also added a little atp-205 to the power steering today.

Reasonable price is the cost of a replacement bed in excellent or equal shape. Which, in my experience, usually run $800-1,400. It may take longer in your case, because green beds are notorious for clearcoat fail. I've seen deals on lesser-condition beds - like, demt-free, but significantly worse than yours - running $400-600, but let's be real: If you took that into a shop and asked them to hammer and bondo it out, then spray it to get back to a point of "back to whole", it's going to be north of $1,500, and that specific bedside will never match the rest of the truck.

'Used replacement' cost of a bed is the absolute fairest way you can go with this. And if you need to show dude this, by all means, do. And if you need to get an opinion from someone in the industry, let's page @Dakillacore.

But I'm thinking more along the lines of Zigni, tibs, or similar. Or maybe goat vindaloo.
