To Tune or not to Tune - 2022 Hybrid/Capstone

Hi all. Can’t decide if I should tune my 2022 Capstone. While I love the little bit of fuel efficiency with the hybrid in regular mode, it drives me absolutely nuts when I hit the accelerator and need to gun it, it takes easily over a second to actually kick in and let the engine do the work.

is this something a tune would help with or should I just learn to drive in sports mode and be done with it? I just hate how jerky sport mode can be but open to suggestions.

Good to know. Dumb question, is it ok to have it in Tow all the time when not towing?

 

Sure. Only effects fuel economy.

A tune should help with lag, but I bet it’s a while before anyone in the Toyota tuning world really gets their heads wrapped around how to tune them properly. It’s quite a bit different than past engines.

It’s too bad there is no HPTuners support because the Ecoboost tuners could likely jump right in.
