After you changed the setting for the mic, can you and the other caller hear ok?
And, does it matter if you are connected via cord or wireless? (not using phone speaker)

I actually haven't tested a call specifically yet, but it was able to capture my 'hey google' and voice texting to follow very well. I have also only connected wirelessly so far as well

I am using the included external mic. Made my first call on it yesterday and it went well, I mounted it up on the steering column but I may later try and figure out how to get it routed up into the stock location.

I did before getting into the factory settings to turn them up. It didn't work (because it was off) so I chalked it up for just being bad, plugged in the external and tried again.. still didn't work. Thats when you reminded me of the factory settings code and too look there, found it that system and BT were at half and the MIC setting was set to 0. Turned them all up and then tested again and all worked well

I'm going to try the same adjustment on the built-in mic first and if that don't work I will plug in the provided external. Thanks...

I've been working on customizing the home screen on and off for a bit. I finally think I'm getting close to happy. I tried to base the style on the little info screen. I've basically forgotten what the stock radio screen looked like at this point. I still need to figure out how to stop AutoKit from auto-launching at startup, and build/acquire some more useful widgets. Attached is a photo as well as my background screen if anyone cares to use it. I'm using nova launcher with a few tweaks (if anyone wants it, I'll figure out how to share my config). Icons are from the "Whicons" pack available on the play store.

Just finished my install. Didn't connect the external mic and didn't change any settings. Placed 2 separate calls and all was good. The two people could hear me and I them and no echo or feedback.

Need to tinker with sound settings because my sub is on and working, but not real loud. Other than that, all seems fine just need to learn some things.

Needed to turn up amp gain for some reason!

I just installed the 10.2 head unit. Like it so far. Seem to have lost the GPS signal. May need to remove and check the cable i bought from Discount Car Stereo for the FAKRA connector

I may use your method for the wifi antenna and maybe having both the GPS and XM sat/radio wire connected i can get a stonger GPS signal??
To make sure i understand - i will need
    1.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y631SY1?ie=UTF8
    2.) https://www.amazon.com/Anina-Satellite-Antenna-2012-2021-Aftermarket/dp/B09SPXQFCJ

Then i can use one set of those and connect to the wifi antenna port, since i already have the FAKRA connector mentioned above.

I also just went back to Discount Car Stereo and they have this adapter for use with the XM radio connector.

haven connected the sim card adapter yet.

The reader has a larger slot in it and my sim card is real small. I assume its a Micro sim or a Nano sim.

I assume i will need to call my cell carrier and specifically ask fir a regular sim?
as noted in the attached pic, or maybe there is a tray that accepts the smaller sims.

I want to try this connection and get rid of the added antenna.

Did you do any test to see if this actually works? Maybe im not clear on what the results would be. I guess, when you are at home near your home wifi, you either connect with your setup or not - Correct?

From some short research, My guess is: since wifi operates at 2.5ghz or 5ghz and xm operates at mhz, your wifi connection is slower?

Im going to assume - this connector would produce the same results as your method, but discount car stereo says "no way" their connector that would essentially utilize the roof GPS/XM Sat antenna would pull in a wifi signal.

I have my oem gps antenna connected to the gps connection on the radio with the fakra adapter to coax adapter to the maestro cable. No issues with the gps.

used my spare coax adapter on the wifi coax on the radio. connected the anina xm cable to the coax adapter and the oem xm antenna. The xm antenna is just used for wifi, I haven’t noticed issues with speed the couple of times I’ve used it and it picks up networks at a further distance.

I have mine setup like this too but experienced the opposite. It doesn't really matter for me since the only wifi I connect to is my phone's hotspot, but I did notice with the supplied wifi antenna, I could see the networks from my home router and join them, but the signal was so faint it was unusable. With the xm antenna as wifi antenna, I cannot see the house network to join it (but the phone hotspot works great with either antenna, as long as the phone is in the truck).

Hello All........I've had my Dasaita unit installed in my 21 TRD Sport for about a week. It replaced the stock non-JBL without navigation. Here are my thoughts and observations in case it can help anybody out:

    1. Install was relatively easy........this was the first head unit I've installed since the late 90s.
    2. I installed the provided GPS antenna and ran it up through the middle dash speaker. It turned out fairly clean and the unit locks into a GPS signal pretty quick.
    3. I did NOT install the provided microphone, nor did I attempt to connect the OEM mic. I have made several calls utilizing only the built in microphone and have had no complaints about the volume or clarity.
    4. The factory USB data port (far left on the bottom of the center console) did NOT achieve a data connection, but does charge my devices.
    5. The other provided USB harness labeled "phone link" and "data" worked as intended. I purchased an additional USB extension and mounted the socket into the lower part of the center console on the driver's side. I do not intend to use the wired phone connection and will use a slim USB for the data port, so the location is plenty out of the way for my needs.
    6. I'm still working on tweaking the interface to my liking, but one thing I have not yet figured out is split screen mode (to display 2 apps simultaneously). I'm not sure if I'm missing it, or if it is disabled by the manufacturer.

Overall, I'm happy with the unit so far.

Is your GPS antenna under the center grill?

I have a 2016. I would assume your connections would be somewhat similar for the USB plug in the console.

Did you use the single USB cable with the purple connector. It connects to the interface cable you should have received in one of the bags.
(see rca's above #4 in pic)
    Looks like this

Also there are 3 RCA's you need to connect together (red, white, yellow)
They dont explain why, just show them in the picture. (see #5 in pic)

I'm not sure, but I would venture a guess that the connections are similar. I did use the single USB cable which I expected was going to maintain the factory USB data connection, but it did not. To clarify, I plugged in all of the factory connections that had a corresponding connection in the Dasaita head unit. I did NOT install the external microphone or the 4G SIM card. I mounted the data and phone link USB connections on the driver's side of the center console as pictured:

Something is amiss then, if it matters to you, maybe pull it out and double check or ask Dasaita it its suppose to retain that plug for data and charging.

On mine (2016) the harness did not have a spot for one white connector and the black XM connector.
I also did not use the mic or the sim card block. My GPS signal was present but now its zero, so im pulling
it back out this weekend to check and may end up using their GPS antenna (even though i dont really want to).

On a side note: how does your radio sound ? Mine sounds like crap and has static. I used their ground cable, maybe i will disconnect
and see if that fixes it.

As for the radio sound, mine sounds good better than stock no static at all for me. I did not use their ground either.

Cool . I'm having issues with mine. I may go back stock just to test. The radio app sounds like crap and the fade isn't working correctly and eq is wonky as well.

Is your fade working correctly (front/rear and left/right) ?

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it....
