the 600 sport bikes are legit, I had a YZF-R6 and it would keep up with the newer R1s at the time. A 600cc sport bike reeving to 15-17k rpm are screamers.

Last time I rode a sport bike was 90-92. GSX-R6. Couldn't quite keep up with my buddies ZX-10 at the top end but had some zip for sure.

Never had a hard core 600 and I kinda regret it. Too late now, the body would not appreciate it.
I always gravitated to the softer focused sporty bikes / sport tourers.
    First bike: '84 500 Interceptor
    Then a string of Hondas including 2 CBR1000's, VF700S Sabre, a VFR 750 Interceptor, a '90 750 Ninja thrown in there.
Put a boatload of miles on an Aprilia RST1000 Futura and within the last few years the ride of choice is a Kaw Versys 1000.
There was a 7 year stretch I was without a bike when my kids were little. Other than that, I've had a 2-wheeler since I was 15.

I sold my ktm 950 and ktm 690 least year and year before last. Just don't get out and and ride them enough to warrant them taking up space anymore. I've had a bike since I was 17 though and at times this summer I miss the ability to just go for a quick spin. Because now I have to pedal for smiles on 2 wheels.

To bring it back to topic of why so many non 3rd gen owners are posting in 3rd gen forums.

Because in AMERICA we have free speech. And forums are a place to share opinions. Seems like a no brainer that it doesn't matter what you drive, opinions will get tossed around, regardless of association.

For sure. I’ve ridden liter bikes - side by side with the same brand and year as a 600 - and they always feel bulkier and more awkward than a 600. They’re faster sure and if I was a pro rider I bet I could handle those super strong bikes better but why? A 600 will still outrun anything on the road except a Nissan GTR lol and the way they just flick around is awesome.

It’s way more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.

R1200GSA, KTM 450exc here. I also ride the wife’s WR250r sometimes but I don’t ride nearly as far or as fast as I used to..

    A little dirt...mostly street though. :bikewheelie::bikewheelie2:
And old guys reminiscing about old -ish bikes.
And the pros and cons of 600cc vs liter bikes.

Just trying to bring the Gens together on things we can at least partially agree on:
Motorcycles good. Street, Dirt, Sport, Cruiser, Touring, what have you.
Beer good. Pilsner, Lager, Ale, IPA, Stout, etc.
Single malt Scotch very good. Macallen 12yr double cask.....pick your favorite.
That thing you do with your significant other. You know, THAT thing. Good. :bananadance:

Now, you may or may not agree with ALL the above, and that's fine.
You don't have to totally agree with the following, either.

Toyota trucks, regardless of generation or year. Pretty damn good.
Whether or not you agree, we CAN all be civil while we disagree.
    *steps off of soapbox*

Off to the deck for a stogie and Macallen.

    Have a good evening gents.

Same - and great example. I just can’t get behind the IPA flavor.

    IMG_2100.jpg

@GODZILLA can you and Colorado TJ delete all my posts? I’m basically back doing what I did before. Bought a new farm. Bought a new Tundra. Lifted it. Bought sheep to feed the coyotes and barely break even on.

I don’t want @hagrid making fun of me anymore.
