Foo Fighters tickets for sale, San Diego 8/7/24

We screwed up and booked a vacation to Monterey 8/2 - 8/11 and forgot we had concert tickets on 8/7... DOH!!

Foo Fighters and The Hives.

Wed. August 7th at Petco Park, we have 3 tickets for sale. Section 312, Row 22

Cost us $260 but will sell for $200, just trying to get some money back.

 

Who do they have drumming for them?

 

Josh Freese, used to play with the Offspring.

Though I'm hoping that one day it'll be Shane Hawkins sitting at his Dad's drum kit.

 

Oh interesting. The Offspring is still touring though. Or so I thought.

 

Brandon Pertzborn. I had no idea Offspring fired their drummer Pete Parada for not getting vaccinated. (doesn't seem very "Rock and Roll")

In May 2023, Pertzborn announced himself as the new drummer for the Offspring after Josh Freese (who was their touring drummer) was no longer able to tour with the band full-time as he joined the Foo Fighters, with Pertzborn becoming the official replacement for Pete Parada, who was fired in August 2021 for failing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.[9][10] Due to Pertzborn joining The Offspring full-time, he was unable to perform with Marilyn Manson and had to leave the band. Pertzborn's first recording with The Offspring is their upcoming eleventh studio album

 

The Tribute in Brazil was awesome! And to see the boy get up there and play was very cool!! That whole show was very moving and a lot of talent showed up to celebrate the life of Taylor Hawkins.


Wished we lived closer I’d buy those tickets!

 

Not gonna' lie, I teared up a little just now watching that video again.

Dexter has a phd in molecular bio I believe? So he probably had an opinion on whether band members get vaccinated or not. I remember my wife (big fan) mentioned he had posted on the topic

 

Oh wow... that's impressive.

Other than Dr. Feelgood and Calling Doctor Love, probably not a lot of Doctorates among rock stars either.

 

Very impressive. He’s mentioned a couple times at shows that he’s debated going into research full time he likes it that much.

Yeah, we're bummed about missing the show, been looking forward to it.

Bought the tickets in March and completely spaced out when we booked the trip to Monterey.
