My dad has a 2023 Toyota Tundra Capstone and he is interested in a diamondback. He is 77. I have a Tundra TRD Pro 2024 and I have the diamondback HD with the cleats installed. I also have the bed extender which works in and out with no problems with the back panel lifted up. My father likes the clean look of the switchback but wants a bed extender for his truck. My worry is how the switchback closing/locking mechanism will work with a bed extender and with him being 77, the switchback might be a little more work for him to open. Does anyone have the setup of a switchback with a bed extender and is the mechanism difficult to open with the bed extender inside of the bed? If you have a picture of what it looks like, that would be great!

I'm not sure if you've found an answer yet. I have the Switchback, and from what I can see, it doesn't seem compatible with the bed extender. The locking mechanism for the switchback hits the top of the bed extender, preventing it from locking the bed cover. If anyone has a solution for this, I'd be interested to know. Good luck!

Appreciate the reply. I convinced him to get the SE for that exact reason. I didn’t think the latch would be easy to latch with the bed extender in the way. Plus my dad is older and might have a little more trouble flipping those panels.
