It's been said already but I also dip my toe into 3rd gen threads because someday I'll be in the market for another truck, plain and simple.

The few 3rd gen owners that think we don't have them because we can't afford them..

As a humble non-owner of a 3rd Gen who has been here for a few years, this is my view on this topic. This all started with the rollout and the spirited conversations about how ugly this truck was, and then it started to spiral downhill once all the problems began to emerge. When some here completely rejected that there were any problems with the truck and then blamed others for some sort of jealousy or hatred, that's when it started getting ugly IMO. A forum should exist to promote and expose the good the bad and the ugly, let the chips fall where they may.

certainly the view of a non gen 3 owner , there was absolutely another side of the coin , starting with , it’s not ugly , and going from there

two sides to things most times , actually 3, two sides and the truth lol

    Nice post @TILLY

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
In the grand scheme of things, the Gen 3 is NOT a good-looking vehicle.
The silver grille mustache and chrome rear bumper parts on most of the non-1794 and non-Platinums (who gives a fuck about the Capstone?) is God awful.
They should have color-matched that part on EVERY SR5 Tundra.
Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?

Great news! Did you get the free app or the $5.99 one. I'd like to use it since we have it on our Fire TVs and like it. I do currently have a weather app that shows precipitation, winds, temps and cloud cover. If I could get one that would overlay on Google Maps I'd be happy.

I need the payload capacity when towing my trailer with my family in the truck, if not now then certainly when my kids are grown.

Ran into a guy in the Cleveland area yesterday with a beautiful lifted silver 2.5 gen truck. Struck up a Toyota truck lovers conversation for a few minutes. I think we can all get along just fine <3

I personally dropped in to see how the 3rd Gen was doing as I am a potential customer. Sadly Toyota shot themselves in the foot & not just the motor. Lots of other quality issues, while the prices jumped significantly. Toyota appears to be standing behind the product on the recalls. I'll be wary of buying the 1st three years on the used market.

I did buy the first year of the redesigned Sienna (2021) because I had faith in Toyota engineering and production. Even though I only had it for a year before Carvana made me an Covid price offer I couldn't refuse, no issues with quality or recalls at all. I'd buy one of them used without a 2nd thought beyond maintenance done. I just drove my 2015 Avalon Hybrid until I sold that.

So far the 2018 Tundra I picked up nearly a year ago with no extended warranty, has been flawless.

Downsize the trailer and/or the family..
I went with a smaller trailer first, I'm good on payload for now but they're on the chopping block

I think it’s a Toyota weirdo thing. I don’t see it anywhere near to this level on other car and boat forums.

I think that’s horseshit. I cut my losses on a Range
Rover 4 months into it. Jeep Wrangler 3 months. 2022 F150 as soon as I could get it running and out of the shop. Cut positions on investments every day.

I keep the Tundra because it’s working and does what I want. Nothing more or less than that.
