What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I was actually looking at some webbing type material like this for when I remove the rear seats to keep the esp cubby items in place. Found someone who makes all custom type webbing and netting in various shapes for the overland crowd.

 

How was the drive? I will likely be headed through there from California in early September.

Introduced the Tundra to its new step-cousin. Our oldest daughter flew in to El Paso yesterday and picked up her new Land Cruiser. Gotta say I like the size and style. The 4 cyl turbo/hybrid has good pickup and it’s loaded with all the bells and whistles but you’d still know it’s a Toyota.
Sadly, she wouldn’t let me take it out to the hills above the house to test the lockers. I’ll talk her into it before she heads back to Houston.

Had it washed and detailed and waxed and then nature decided it needed an additional bath.

 

Worked on things in the bed. Added Rago Fab high lift brackets and quick fist holders. Also installed the second set of Charvonia Design billet hold downs I have had in a box for over two years. I also started going through all the mods I have yet to install and get it organized to tackle a few more.

 

Added some gallon fluid container. May not use all the quart units but we will see when I lay it out in the rig.

 

Installed my knockoff TRD pro skid from Amazon. Pretty pleased with it so far. Had a buddy cut me a vinyl trd sticker for an added effect.

 

I’m sure part of it is climate, but I”m at 3 years and 6 months on the original battery.

One more quick one. Found the 3D printed vent ring covers I bought from @ToyoMafia a few years ago. I sanded them with some 400 grit, sprayed a couple coats of satin black, and then a coat of satin clear. Not perfect but better than the chrome.

 

Haven’t done much to it lately other than drive the hell out of it. One thing I haven’t done is worry about getting a full engine replacement.

BD's factory amber lens swap on my squadrons...



What's the most favored way of getting Amber DRL's? Would it be the Morimotos?

 

I have the Morimoto xbs, they are a few years old, got them when they released the amber DLR. They are bright, but now showing signs of dust and condensation inside. I haven't found any cracks but they are scratched from brush etc. For the price, I had hoped that they wouldn't have issues.

 

Doesn't Morimotos have a pretty good warranty on their products? That's what I would be afraid of, spending $1600 and having even the slightest issue with them. Don't the Pro headlights come with amber DRL? or is it just that they are blacked out inside

 

Any idea where i can find this overlay!?!? , i ordered the whole set from tvd but was told he no longer does the iforce overlay and its going to drive me crazy to not have this piece with the rest of them covered and really hate to not use the kit due to one set of missing badges

Don't think there's a rep on here but tons of knowledgeable people plus @memario1214 sells them.

 

I got mine for the Tundra through Headlight Revolution which is in Atlanta I beleive. I have them on the 4Runner as well but I got those through @memario1214.

 

HR is a vendor in the list but they haven't been active on here in a long time.

 

Just noticed Hotshot offers another brand. Any input on the Form headlights?

 

I wanted a sealed battery because I had it leak a bit from the vents the last two summers. Looked into what Costco had and the AGM 24F came up as an option. Cold cranking amps are the same so no loss there. A bit smaller footprint and a few pounds lighter too.

 

Man those have been a long time since production. Mine are still good to go. I think I used filling primer and sanded 10 times to get them almost perfect. They are still so much better than chrome.
