Not sure multiple people are reporting this as well, on the engines. Supposedly they hired 250 new employees in Japan at the engine plant to build them. From what I have seen basically depending on towing use they tend to fail around 18-30k miles. I read the previous posts on auto stocks, I bought Ferrari stock because of the symbol; I thought RACE was cool and it has done well along with the Tesla stock. Tesla tends to go up and down with the political winds but you all should have bought apple stock before the splits. Stellaris is a dog with fleas but hopefully they will have it figured out soon.

I agree of course. Time will tell. Wouldn't make sense to throw in the same motor without it corrected. I'm thinking Yota engineer folks have been putting in even more hours which is insane. Having lived there for almost 5 years I got a pretty good grasp of that craziness. Ha!

ya, or its just not that crazy of a conspiracy theory and it just the dirty blocks and this will end it.

if we want to go into tin foil hat mode, maybe the new part number for the main bearing and the cleaning is the remedy and the recall will expand as they can pump out the new motors.

eitherway, the new ones should be good.

that said, there will always be a acceptable failure rate, thats the way it is for every single motor ever, there is going to failures and an acceptable failure rate.

Bottom line....definitely a stress relief for a lot folks that were stressing. I would be like you and just drive. Wouldn't park it or sell. That's nutz.

I do feel for the folks who had the failure. Especially way out and about. I'm sure you do too. Sucks. What's the alternative? I have a pretty good grasp on inconvenience. Ha!

This thread was about the 22 Tundra vs the 22 F-150. Is that even relevant anymore? Comparisons are still coming in I guess. To me it's moot. Owners of both are dealing with some sort of issue. To put things in perspective, I bought a new 75 Ford RCSB 4X4 with the Ranger trim. 360 V8 with 145 hp. A f'ing dog. I think I paid $4700

Look back at the pre 70's Mopar days. We are back at that. Decent HP again. Even freaking little soccer mom bs cars. The only boats I like now are the ones I don't own. Slip fees sucked back then and suck now. I like your boat. Ha!

The Ridgeline is way over due for a complete makeover. Hopefully the new Ridgeline will have fewer problems than the new Pilot. The new Pilots have had lotsa problems, including leaking roofs caused by faulty roof welds. Also, Honda seems to have dipped in Q.C. And customer support.

I notice the '09-'15 Pilots seem to get bad body rust. Most of the times that I see one, the tailgate is rough.

so what does one do with this motor recall now. I'd honestly be nervous about problems being introduced to a truck that might have turned out to be fine.

if you have a recalled truck you get a new motor, if you don't have a recalled truck you have to rely on the warranty for now or extended warranty if you have one.

since they are doing a full motor and not the short block BS, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

some people who have tons of miles are happy to get a brand new motor

Oh yea, this situation still sucks. I'd unload while I could if I had a Tundra. Toyota is absolutely doing the "right" thing here. But I'm sure they will not be paying enough hours for the job so techs will be rushing through this. I wouldn't want my truck pulled about and put back together like that even if warranty gets extended or reset.
