A friend of a a friend that works at the local Toyota dealership just notified me of a recent truck they took in on a trade, 2019 Tundra Pro. I’m not too hard up on a Pro, and not a huge fan of white. But I don’t hate it. Haven’t gotten a look at it first hand yet, but it looks good in the pictures I’ve recieved. Miles are a bit high at 110,000 and they haven’t put a price on it yet.

What’s the expected price point I should expect from a dealer, and what’s a reasonable offer? Assuming one were to make an offer on the truck.

    edit: dealer is asking $37500.

Honestly, probably way too much for the mileage. Wouldn’t be surprised if they put it on the lot at $40k

If carfax is clean and frame checks out for rust and/or other un-documented damages, it should go for $35K easy, more likely $40k+
For that mileage, I would not pay $35K+, especially when you think about it might need new shocks with that mileage....adjust for another maybe $5k for refresher....
This is all based on assumption. It could be better or worse, no idea.

You’re right in line with where my head is at. I’ve seen the carfax. One owner, local dealer purchased/maintained (southern truck), Toyota certified pre-owned silver.

I’m not a big a fan of white, and I don’t love going back to a regular key vs push start. But if the asking is not too far north $35k and they give me what I’d want for my Tacoma I’ll prolly get it. It’s not listed for the public to see yet.

edit: just heard back, they’re gonna list it at $37500

Oops, sorry, didn't realize you had a Taco listed.....
$37.5K, that's gonna be up to you. Just remember all the regular tips, fluid changes and maybe the shocks (I doubt it has been refreshed since new, but never know)
So you might end up needing way north of $40k once all said and done. By no means is 100k miles is too much, but it might be too much for that price.
I will likely push for $35K plus a higher trade-in for the Taco or somewhere in the middle, but I honestly don't feel all the butterfly for this PRO....

Looks like a good bit a maintenance just completed by the dealership (see highlighted circle). Sales guy was off on mileage by 5k. And yes the suspension is likely OE Fox.

Just about every Carfax says the same thing regarding maintenance. Log in to Toyota Owners and add the VIN to your account and look at the history listed in there. Yes, you can add the VIN with being the owner.

10/4, can’t say I’ve noticed that on other carfax reports I’ve looked at recently.

I'm thinking you're good to go with all of the maintenance items done since traded in. I highly doubt they add all of that to the carfax if it wasn't actually done.

I'd check out the truck yourself and start there. Get an idea in your head what you'd want on trade in on the Tacoma or explore carvana/private party

What can you get for 38k now?

I thought I was insane when I paid mid 70k CAD for mine back in 2020, now a new Taco TRD Pro is $90k CAD.

A 2021 SR5 with sub 40k miles. Also a plethora of 3rd gens but we don't need to derail this thread.

Anything that’s lived more than a single winter month in the northeast/midwest is a nonstarter for me. Hell anything I can’t put eyes on first hand is a tough sell.
Fair point, and I’m not hell bent on buying the local one I am asking for insight on. It simply popped up locally and wanted a little educated Tundra owner opinion. I’ve mostly been shopping 2020/21 in the sub 50k mileage category. Also with specific criteria including push start and select colors.

Not that it really matters as I’m not a Pro lover boy, but this white one in Gwinnett isn’t actually a pro. It’s just listed that way.

A year or two up north doesn't immediate make a vehicle break down into a rust hell. but years and years of it will cause issues.

I'm not saying the one you're looking at is bad at all. It's CPO which is convenient. I was just posting those examples to show the other person on here that there are options at $38k.

Push start is def a nice feature to have. Before I got mine, I was hell bent on getting a calvary blue. Couldn't find one for the life of me so i settled with MGM which I now love.

White isnt for everyone but if you're spending nearly $40k for something, it's pretty important to get exactly what you want.

Also inline with what others have said, seems solid for what's on the paper, see if you can see it in person and request a 3rd independent inspection.
Not saying your friend is lying but dealerships have been known for not being the most honestly place on earth....so
Also, your asking price for the Taco and their asking price, if you can meet in the middle, great, or otherwise, since you have some hesitation on some features, I say let it go and find something you really love or at least can live with.
I am old school, while push start is nice, I actually like a key-turn, feels good to crank that engine up and hear it roar. But again, each to its own.

My 2019 TRD Pro had 22.2k miles on it when I got it in May. Paid 49k for it. A 2021 with 13k was about 10k more. A similarly equipped 2019 TRD Pro with 56k miles on it was $47k. 105k on a 2019 is a lot of miles, my 2012 only had 75k on it when I lost my mind and traded it in for a sporty/luxury mid-size SUV. My 2012 was essentially TRD Pro clone as far as I could go. Method wheels, aftermarket bumpers, RCI skid, Sequoia LED headlight conversion, Bilstein 6112's/5160's, CB 3" shackles, DDI exhaust, AFE CAI and throttle-body spacer, and leather seats with heated fronts, sound system with 12 speakers and 2x 10" subs in a ported box, amp, bedslide and SnugTop canopy. They sold it for $37k like 3 days after I traded it in in 2022.

But, 105k miles is probably 1/10th of the service life of the truck if properly maintained. I don't think I would want to pay more than $39-41K for a 19 with that many miles, if not less.

I appreciate all the input. The dealership is local to me, and on my way home. May as well stop by and look it over. The mileage doesn’t really bother me, especially with the service records.

I’m not in a must buy scenario. Perfect world I’d find a lower mileage 2020/21 TRD offroad crew max in AG or Cement with a clean record at under $40k. So far that isn’t reality.

AG might be a harder find, if I remember correctly their offering ain't that big.
Cement I think you might have a better chance, especially if you are not going for PRO but just TRD OR, if you spread the net further south, TX/AZ might have good mid-mileage with color/combo you want, price, meh, might/might not match. 2.5G right now is hot commodity since 3G has some bad press and some are wanting back in a NA V8 instead of FI V6 Turbo, no matter how nice the inside is, if it ain't reliable, it ain't worth it.

For comparison, I bought my 2021 Pro in April of this year with 37k miles. The dealership had it listed at $55k, and talked them down to $52.5K before tax/tag. All services completed at the dealership that I purchased from. NW GA.

It was listed that morning, and the only reason I knew this dealership had this specific Tundra was because I received word from a buddy that knew the individual that had just traded it in. I called before they had it listed and had the salesmen contact me when it was ready and got there as soon as I could.

They already had 4 other appointments scheduled to see it by the time I had arrived.

If you decide to buy it, congratulations. It's a beauty!

AG is much harder to find. Pretty sure it was 2020/21 only, with 2020 being Pros only. Naturally it’s my preferred color. Cement is more available, but I am being picky with the region I’ll buy from, as well as the packages I want on said truck. My current truck is a pretty well spec’ed 2017 Tacoma TRD offroad that’s built out to my taste. It meets my truck needs, just is a bit tight in the cab with a growing family.

I agree, I opted for a Tundra CrewMax due to cabin space for the family.
Wife originally was so mad I got such a big size truck, and "dragged" me (and two kids) back to the dealership demanding to switch to a Taco.
Sales manager had his taco at the dealership that day and offered to let my wife check it out as they don't have any new Taco's on the lot (this was July 2021, stock was non-existence) and after my wife took two peek at the rear seat of said Taco, we left.
To day, no complaints. Well, only when she has to drive it..... (But it is my truck, you don't drive it everyday, I do.....)

If you want Army Green, get the 1794 edition then just make it look like a Pro, we never got that choice in Canada, I would've jumped on that if it was available.

Stopped by. Didn’t even drive the truck. Passenger side had a scratch/dent all along the bed, on into the passenger rear door jam and door. I’d already been told by a sales manager that they were firm at $37500 plus ttl.

I thanked my friend of a friend sales guy and drove off perfectly content in my lil taco. The hunt continues.
