You have no idea how it is getting two stubborn 80+ year olds out of the house with medical conditions to enjoy a nice meal.

Last week I had the joy of bringing my father to the emergency room due to his deteriorating condition.

I remember celebrating Half Xmas aka Camp Christmas aka Xmas in July at summer camp as a kid. Poncho Claus would come up from Mexico with his sombrero, drug rug poncho, and gifts.

Either you're the worst son or the best.
    Only Santa knows for sure.

Anyway. $90 for meal, tax and tip for us three and the food was meh. At least I can say I went to Liberty Tavern once in my life. Never again.

My upper-70s parents (fwiw, they started knocking out kids in their mid-late teens) were here 8 days ago. They literally sat inside the house the whole time, with exception to Mom going on hikes with me and the oldest. Dad's not in the best of shape, has something causing sciatica and the docs haven't managed to pinpoint it yet, and if it requires surgery, he's old enough they likely won't want to. I think we're in similar boats. 5, maybe 10yrs tops, and they're gone. I'm shocked pops has made it this long and he's not looking good these days. I think he's ready to check out. USN really kicked his ass. Moms, she'll stick around longer, I'm sure. I'm just hoping she stays cool once he's gone.

The highlight of the night was my father telling me how the restaurant was originally a liquor store he went to as a kid with my grandfather. Apparently an older woman who was well off and knew my grandfather who had nine kids, my father being one of them, asked my granddad if she could keep my father since he wouldn’t miss one of nine.

He had to think it over and get back to her. :D

Rigged up a bootleg lift for my camper shell; hasn’t collapsed yet. Truck looks better without the shell.

While the shell’s off I’d like to paint it, make a rack for it out of that Home Depot uni-strut, replace my third brake light on the truck, do some trim restore on the bed rail, get some LED brakes and reverse lights, and figure out the taillight wiring. And also just enjoy the truck as a truck.

All back together and running smooth. I was able to salvage the Hub with the blown out bearing bearing. I used a Bearing Separator and it came off.

Got the stupid bearing race off.

It got dark so no pics, but I installed new OEM Rotors and Pads, and a 1/4” spacer on top of the driver side 5100’s and 885’s to get rid of the damn Tacoma Lean.

Thunder Grey? Looks good. I had a similar rig at my other house to swap caps when I would buy a newer Ranger. Whatever works.

Yes sir, 00-02 1C7 for the win! Is it dark grey? Light brown? Purple? It’s the Rorschach test of automotive paints.

Unfortunately like all that era of Toyota two-stage paints it peeled horribly and PO went with a budget paint option for roof and hood (but not the camper shell?!) and they did laughably minimal prep work. I’m glad it’s repainted but I’m still going to try to clay bar off some of the old overspray.

Some of us would kill for garage ceilings that high. I could probably do that, but I'd need to remove the garage door opener and its frame.

Changing LBJ, tie rod boots and outer TRE on tundra. Stupid question - for an alignment do they remove the outer tie rod end from the knuckle? Or just spin the inner tie rod to adjust? Not sure if I should torgue and cotter pin the new nut, or leave it only half tight and let them finish it after alignment.

I didn't used to use any, but the last few years I have. It's nice to have semi clean hands when you're done.
It's not even a chemical dermal contamination issue, the time for starting/avoiding that has Long passed
