@OP..... When received, I expect this notice letter to repeat verbatim or with slight adjustments essentially what is included in the Toyota press release on May 30 provided in this link and attached. A contact is identified in the press release if you wanted to see about receiving something additional.

    https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota...022-2023-toyota-tundra-and-lexus-lx-vehicles/

Hope this is helpful to you.

Just out curiosity, are you expecting to see something different with this mailer than what was already announced in the recall? I think a few others have mentioned this, but the "Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 15, 2024" statement in the recall bulletin is just the formality of saying owners will get notified in the mail as well. "Expected to be mailed by 7/15" is also just an estimate. I had a fuel pump safety recall on my Highlander for similar reason (Engine may stall increasing risk of a crash.) I received a letter in the mail that basically stated what was posted in the recall notice and then a follow up letter when the parts were available to be able to schedule replacement at a dealer. I'm assuming this will be along those same lines for those affected.

One item that caught my eye on the press release I posted in #31, it is categorized as "VOLUNTARY RECALLS". I do not know what that means.

Simply pointing out the timing of when Toyota would have to notify the NHTSA. And well aware of the letter you are referring to. It won't be anything knew that we don't already know.

It is simply Toyota's use of language. Recalls are rarely, if ever, "voluntary".

I believe a Voluntary Recall is issued by the manufacturer; a Mandatory Recall is mandated by the US government. But I am not expert.

I would request to please stop speculating what will or will not be in the letter if you have not seen it.
I don't go on your threads and start casting aspersions that your questions are dumb when I myself can't answer the question.
If that's what you are looking for more power to you. Highly suggest you go on Reddit and you will find endless others to debate with.
If you would like to share helpful information, by all means stay on.

I speculate the letter will only regurgitate previously shared info. I, like a million other youtubers will share the contents the second I open the envelope

    Lots of stuff!
So this has been pushed to potentially include dates right up to December 31.

This is going to take some time to get through to the other side!

I am pretty sure that this wont affect sales of the 24 and 25 Tundras! ;)

    How so?

The recall hasn't changed in it's scope. It is still Nov 2021 through Mid Feb 2023.

This is simply Toyota giving a timeframe for when to expect the remedy.

@sudobash thanks for digging this up and posting this change. I expect that this will change or be updated again!

I am referring to the remedy date, not the included engines (which mine is).

The 4th quarter would typically be Oct, Nov and Dec.

Also, they do use words like "anticipated" so the dates can change and most likely will as this is a huge situation for Toyota to solve.

The crappy part is that we don't get any updates at all on the Transport Canada website. And Toyota Canada has stated to me that they are a "different" company than their US counterpart so they will do what they want or see fit.

Dealer Letter in Owner Letter format with the update for the remedy being a full engine replacement at no cost.

Nothing new to how Toyota through the NHTSA does this.

And yet, under "What will Toyota do?" they list the remedy.

They are still preparing the remedy, so what you pointed out is still true as the remedy is not yet available.

You should see the misspellings & errors in the Toyota Pricing Document. They've had the Tundra Capstone as a 6.5-ft Bed for over 2 years now.

They've also been using the wrong logo in most, if not all, of their documentation for a while now. It was updated in Early 2022. They even released the 2025 Crown Signia Brochure with the wrong logo last month.

I never got a letter. Shows up in my app.

Probably sitting in the new Postal Regional Processing Center that is more like a mail landfill.

I haven't seen a letter and my app says the same minimal info as it did when the recall first popped up. Even though we have ~10,000 affected trucks in Canada, Toyota continues to remind me (after 5 emails) that they are a different company and customer service is obviously not high on their list or being accountable for anything they sell. I guess I need to head back to the BBB website and update my review!
