So I got a message on the dash asking me to clean my radar sensors. Cool beans, got my eye glass wipes and I wiped all of them, no dice, message still pops up every now and then. Was at a dealer for an unrelated issue and asked them about it, apparently the front ones are "pitted" and there is nothing to do but replace them. Ok, sure, for the $50 bucks a pop I'm sure you want.....wait, did you just say $830/unit?!?!?! WTF, this isn't a radar tracking system off of a fighter aircraft, I don't need the truck to be able to track ground to air missiles, just that pole in front of me. Nope, $830 Canadian rupees, I'm sure thats like $14 US freedom dollars, but still, thats a lot of money, especially since there are 4 of the little bastards. Anyone ever had to replace these things, do you still have your kidneys, arms and legs, all your children, should I just start saving my empties for the next 5 years in order to afford this?!?! TIA

Try to spray them with WD40. Sometimes they get water in/behind/around them. The WD40 forces out the water. Sometimes I get a sensor on the front of the BMW that reads like there is a ghost in the way. I spray it with WD and it works as intended again

OP, are we talking about the TSS sensor, the parking sensors or the BSM/RCTA sensors? If you post the exact message it’ll help us help you

Sorry, its the parking sensors. The message is "CLEAN PARKING ASSIST SENSORS" and then it flashes individual ones.
