Today I drove home with it outside air and the fan on…so I thought. Why would water be dripping from the condenser drain if the AC wasn’t on?

The ac can run with outside air.

Even if the ac is off. The fan was on.

Something I've noticed is when I start my truck the ac light isn't lit but it is clearly pushing cold air. It's not until I push the ac button until it says "AC off" does the compressor stop. Not sure if it's just me but it's definitely a strange and confusing behavior.

Damn now I got to pay attention. I thought when pressing the button it says AC on with a light on the ac button.

I was thinking just like you that if the light wasn't lit, ac should be off no compressor running. It had me thoroughly confused.

Ya know, it might have something to do with the climate settings in infotainment unit. I recently switched it from auto to off

If you have it in Auto it will do whatever it needs to to hit the selected temp. The A/C button won’t light up, I agree it’s kinda weird.

I messed with it this morning. I selected the ac off. So now when the fan is on the ac will be off.

And as soon as you select defrost it will magically be on again until you remember to turn it off again! Lol
