I’d actually be cool with anything up to 4.2, frankly. Ideal for me would be 8-8.5 wide and I think around 4.6 but I’m flexible. I was looking at several sets of GX470 stockers (the 5 spoke splits) for $100/set, but when I ran the specs they’re like 5.25, no go. And yes, we do. The youngest has been bugging the shit outta me about camping one weekend before school starts up in 2 weeks.

I know a lot of people like to knock on Harbor Freight but sometimes they hit the nail on the head. Saving this thread as proof. :militarypress:

HF is getting their stuff from the same mainland China factory as everyone else. They’re just being honest and fair with the pricing, and not hyping it up. And they’ll basically warranty it for as long as they have the product or a similar one in stock, in my experience. They get a lot of shit, but it’s one place I wont hesitate to shop at. I keep a binder with receipts though. And won’t buy life or death safety equipment from them after the jackstand debacles.

It’s not like electronics, where you run into wildly different quality in components used, where cheaping out produces a notable difference in output and longevity, there are a myriad of different ways the shortcuts can cause failures, and most of the guts are hidden so you can’t see what a shit job/what garbage it is. If a tool fails on the other hand, it’ll be because the core material failed, a seal or spring failed, etc. excluding power tools of course.

Are people too lazy to wax or does that clearcoat destruction happen normally regardless?

I'm going to guess less than 50% of people wax their vehicles or pay to have them waxed. It's just not a priority for many people and most don't keep their vehicles long enough for it to be a problem.

Going gun shopping with dad again. He wants a .22 mag revolver, and has to go through a certain gun store because its a gift card thing, they seem overpriced to me, but this will be the 3rd trip to look at the same weak assed snub nose. & they dont have a s&w airlite in .22wmr

Have found the Craftsman do go about 1/2 off sometimes and so do others like the Husky. Kinda wish the Kobalt torque wrenches did too. They all tested pretty well against my Quinn torque adapter. IIRC the Craftsman has some plastic in the handle and lock ring, while the Husky has a soft but resilient handle but uses 2 lb increments in the 250 ft lb wrench, while the Kobalt is all metal with 1 lb increments and a socket fits easily on the adjustment mechanism in the handle if want to recalibrate ... but doesn't have a lifetime warranty. Kept the Husky at the sale price for the accuracy, construction, and lifetime warranty.

And if you work at a chemical plant or refinery, the condensation coming off the cooling towers will over time eat your clear coat.

I make a point to not talk about what I've got online (or much less to anyone else) for reasons, but I've got the better 90% of an FIE P22 LR laying around. I believe all it lacks is a cylinder. I never bothered trying to find parts because retail on them is typically $150-200 tops, and they're rumoured to suck ass not be the best in the world. Someone kicked it to me for free after helping him move some stuff into his house. He found it the house after they moved in. I'm sure he probably wants something fancier, but if you were closer, I'd give it to you.

Took the youngest to a pet store west of the city today, before hitting Tractor Supply to grab a new net, so we could go dredging the creek and bogs for critters.

Pull into the parking lot and there's a black, newer-face, cherry-condition Limited 1GT sitting there, so I park in front of it. We walk around inside the store to check out all the animals, spend a good 20min in there, finally make it back and there's a guy maybe half my age behind the counter. Asks if that's my Tundra out front. To which I asked him, "Ah, you're the guy with the black 1GT out front, eh?"

Sure enough, it is. We sat and shot the shit for a few minutes. His was also low-mile and he's been working to fix it up. I think he said he's the 3rd or 4th owner, was originally in FL maybe and got driven very little, then someone bought it for fleet use in TX, they barely drove it, and then it sat for 13 years, basically unused. I should've taken a pic, but little dude wants to go back eventually so I guess I'll get another opportunity.
