Arent dogs just the best helpers? Even when they arent helping they are good moral support.

One time a bunch of us in the desert were helping dig people out of the mud after a flash flood and my pup came over and started pitching in and digging with us! Never mind the fact he was about 3 feet over and not actually doing any good at all. But at least he thought he was helping and we all got a good laugh out of it.

Why did you write “Moog” on the LBJs? Trying not to forget to replace them?

I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually are energy ones. I’ve met the TC guys and they’re solid guys. If it makes you feel good send it. If not the energy ones have been working great for me with the 333 fabrications billet rack clamp.

Looks like the TC are like $50 while the ES are like $35...but $15 is nothing compared to the labor if the result is better ... just want whatever put on there to do well so don't have to do job over. So you swapped the clamp too?

I was thinking it's due for wax and polish. The paint looks to be in decent shape and would probably clean up nicely. Black trucks clean up so well.

How do you like that 333 fab billet rack clamp? Would you recommend it, have you noticed the difference?

It’s definitely worth it. It helps lock that rack in place. I did a ton of TLC when I got the truck and I’ve used 333 products in the past. He’s responsive to questions on Instagram and makes a great product.

These were worth $20. I hated how flimsy the old air controls felt.

Picked up this set of wheels, tires, and hub centric 1 1/4 spacers from a local 4runner friend. 285/70/17 Yokohoma Geolander M/T's have about 50% tread left. @shifty` made a comment yesterday about having two sets of wheels and it sparked something in my brain. Big meats for local stuff and I'll run the 265/70/17's for any long distance fuel economy. It'll be nice to have them on hand to fab the flatbed for checking clearances etc.

Gotta sort out some longer studs for the spacers.

    20240717_111312.jpg
    20240717_120940.jpg

For those that are curious what the stock bed weighs I grabbed another weight this morning. In its current configuration the truck is 4700lbs. The flatbed frame steel is 87.75lbs of that so the stock beds weighs 407 pounds and some change. I'd say +- 20lbs there. Looking to keep the flatbed as close to stock weight (or less) as possible.

That sounds about right. John and I were able to lift and move his bed but a 3rd person helped. It's just awkward and the balance point is not at the wheel wells where you'd normally lift from.

A little regular scheduled programming for everyone -

Driver door handle cracked. Seemed too far gone, so I ordered one from 1AAuto. Didn’t fit. Superglued the old one back together with little hope that it would work. It worked, so bingo for me! Feels surprisingly solid.

Can’t see the lines can ya Russ?
