Dumb question the rear fasteners. Do you just pull them to remove them? Thanks.

Basically a factory installed transmission skid plate. Toyota calls it catalytic converter shield.

Is that new for 2024? Never seen a factory one, hence all the threads here about adding them aftermarket and vendors posting their offerings. For instance, I put a Talons cat shield on my 2023 SR5 OR.

IMG_0207.jpgNot really a transmission skid. You have access to the pan. It does a decent job protecting the cats.

Wow I wish that had been an option on my 2023. Either way.............I have a Talon's skid plate package now to secure the whole underside. Minus gas tank.

I ordered a week ago victory 4x4 front skid in aluminum. I may order the transmission skid but I’ll see how the front skid mates to the cat shield.

I didn't know this was a thing. My aftermarket one has 4 bolts. The front 2 are common with the front skid plate. The skid plate does have two tabs to help hold it in place while you bolt it on. My cat shield would just fall off.

Even though you can take the skid plate off and not really touch my cat shield, the dealer wanted to charge ~$200 to remove it for an oil change. I was like how about no, just don't touch it while you take off the OEM skid plate.

My '24 Limited came with a cat shield add-on by the port (Gulf States) in TX. I added the TRD skid.
