Hey @fisherman951 the Socal part of the forum has slowed down a bit. I still come back and see if anything new. For the most part things have been pretty busy. How is everything with your family?

Thanks for asking Tony. Family is well just busy with work and all of the kid’s activities. You know how that goes. Hope you and the family are doing well. Thanks for trying to revive this thread.

Wow, that’s a big group. Nice.

I’ve seen at least a dozen sign up from San Diego over the last 6-9months. Not sure where they all went :notsure:

Going forward I’ll direct them here

Work and life has been so busy, but have my fingers crossed things calm down so I can adventure again with the Tundra fam.

    Hello SoCal members,

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group, earlier this year I picked up a used 2019 Tundra limited DC in MGM. I actually purchased it because I was purchasing an Oru Designs hybrid wall camper top and I wanted it to be on a reliable long term platform.

I live in North County SD and I'm married with two little girls (7&9) and love to camp every opportunity I can. I'm part of the YMCA Adventure Guides program where me and my girls do some daddy/daughter camping at some pretty cool places (once a month Sept- May). This rig has been a gamechanger for comfort and ease of set up/ breakdown.

Back in my single days I had a 2010 Tacoma OR and was part of the TW forum. I loved meeting up with the local crew there on some of the off road excursions. I caught the build bug and had a sweet mid-travel set up that was fantastic. I'm hoping to slowly bring the Tundra up to that type of build and love these forums to help guide and educate on what looks like a good fit for my mission.

Thank you to @dittothat for helping me get in touch with a well regarded local mechanic. Hope to see you around!

Welcome! Glad to have you here. That’s awesome you and the girls like to get out and go camping. Hoping to break my son(5) into the camping scene this year.

post a pic of your truck if you get a chance and also of the taco if you still have one.

don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything. Seriously. The SoCal crew is super helpful. Recently @eccracer104 needed a lower control arm swapped out in the desert and @papasmurf saved the day.

hopefully we can get a meetup going here soon. I’ve met a few SoCal friends but would love to meet a few more

There are a few different groups known as "Nations" of varying size. The largest Nation is over 700 people which to me is ridiculous. I'm part of Tahoe Nation and on any given trip our total numbers are around 150. We have about 7 "Tribes" that make up Tahoe Nation. Tribes are about 10-20 ppl each. PM me if your interested in joining us on a trip next season, we're always looking to add members.

This looked like the 700 group. Bear nation i think? I saw flags like the ones you see outside a sprint PCS store.

Hey fellas I am looking for someone who can remove a few bead lock screws from a rock warrior wheel. There are 3 that have been pretty well stripped and a couple I believe have a piece of a tool stuck inside. I tried just about everything I can think of and am looking for recommendations on a local person or shop.

    TIA

I’ve refinished twelve RW wheels and encountered the same. I get the toughest T30 bits and use a large breaker bar. Then when that doesn’t work resort to drilling them with carbide bits, just barely big enough to remove the head from the bolt, then drill out the bolt hole if you want to put more bolts back (or leave without the rings works too).

Great advice for sure. I believe that there is some sort of tool or bit stuck in the T30 slot. I’ve tried drilling with all sorts of bits to no avail. Looking for a place that can do it with more success.
