What do they mean "VIN isn't covered"? It's a warrantable item if you have less than 3y/36k miles. Go back and get it replaced or find another dealer.

I went by my dealer last week after noticing the crack. I figured they'd look at it, order the part and make a later appointment. After waiting 1/2 an hour and becoming impatient, I asked how much longer? They said, we have the part in stock and we're changing it now, so an hour or so after arriving, I left with the new part installed!

Truck makers dont always recognize their buyer use case. Many customers of size and or length buy trucks because it is all they can fit in now that full size sedans are toast. But they don't test for above average customers. Then try to claim their failure to test across full spectrum of buyer body types equates to warranty voiding abuse by the owner.

I quit accepting GM trucks with OEM steps for this reason. They break if you weigh more than 200 lbs and GM claims abuse to dodge fixing them

I have owned (3) chevy trucks, and all 3 have had the running boards break off.

I have the retractable ones on the Tundra, and they feel tough.

Drivers seat base on my 23 Pro has already been replaced twice and I spotted a new crack last week. Good thing I still have 10k on my bumper to bumper.

They didn't fight me at all, I suggest try another dealer..might be easiest. If you want the harder way, go back and show them this thread and ask them again and then ask them for the escalation path.

I had “the crack” my dealer replaced it when they did my oil change and I didn’t know until we were going over the paperwork at the end. Guess it’s just part of the 10k service now. lol

Add to the list, is there a part number for the update reinforcement part? Seems like there’s three one for SR, ones with the electric seats and one for the front button for platinums

My third replacement seat panel is starting to crack. I wanted to devise a "fix" for future replacement. I wasn't able to get the panel off the front seat rail. There is a bent tang there. Short of straightening it with a punch, I couldn't figure out how to get past it. I tried a prying tool on the plastic but didn't want to break it. Anyone know the factory procedure for removing seat panel?

I had mine replaced quite a while back, and the replacement is holding up just fine. Mine was on the passenger side. They also replaced the driver side as a precautionary measure.

I am now on my 3rd cracked/broken seat panel in less than 18 months of owning my car. The first 2 they replaced (the 2nd one was cracked/broken by 140lbs son as he was getting out). This one I’m having to pay for out of pocket.
My passenger side one has also been replaced by them once.
This is clearly a poorly made item or designed at cost of us consumers.

Don’t pay for it! It’s clearly a design flaw! Find a different dealership or call Toyota?

Add me to the list 2023 limited, part of the great engine recall, love this truck but really starting to hate the build quality. Toyota if your reading this think you owe customers a refund of the insane MSRP as the truck is built worse then the prior generation

Talked the my dealer this last weekend about mine. He told me the part is back ordered but he will get one ordered. Hoping the redesign fixes the issue.

I heard a loud crack noise last week when I slid out of my Tundra. N sign of the crack yet, maybe one of the clips?
