Exhausted today. Been a crazy couple weeks as I had to go to Chicago for work and then more and more baby stuff.... plus, new MBR set, finally on an adult bed lol. It seems all I have been doing is assembling things for a while plus it turns out I have high blood pressure, so now I am getting that taken care of.... joy...

So today I took out my extra energy on this stupid half rotten tree...

Well, things are going from bad to worse. They finally got the permit revision approved.......on July 2nd. Didn't start work back until Wednesday (8 days after the revision was granted) when they cut a hole in the roof to sink a weight bearing post. Well it rained for awhile and noticed the ceiling was dripping and got up on the roof. They left the hole exposed "so the inspector could see it" and left a trash bag in it to "collect any rain water". Needless to say, the drywall caught the rain water and I raised hell. They put the plywood on the roof and installed the skylights. I have told them to stop all construction. One of the footers isn't even attached to the header and is free floating.....It has been raining here all day and the tongue and groove beadboard is leaking like a siv. I have contacted a local attorney who is willing to consider representing us, but not sure how much it will cost me yet. I am meeting the project manager today at 5pm to do a walk through of my complaints (and there are MANY). We will see how this plays out from here. I really am not a person who expects too much - i expect to get what I pay for and what is agreed to. There are boards that they installed that are split, nails that missed joists through the ceiling bead board and are still there, gaps in the aesthetic portion of the joists (wood warped while they had it laying in the weather for 4 weeks waiting for revisions after failed inspections and they installed it anyway......

It will eventually.......but it really does suck. This was supposed to be completed in time for my wife during her chemo treatment. Read a book, watch TV, be outside and out of the sun......She is now on treatment week 11 of 12 with no end in sight of the project. I am reasonable person who tries to be understanding and patient. But, that ship has sailed. We "owe" $12k on the project - they will not see a dime of that if I have anything to say about it and this WILL be fixed - by them or someone else. I have another company schedued to come out next week. I am paying another project manager to come assess the quality of the project (in case this goes to litigation) and what it would cost to repair the current project and complete.

Started my part list for a mod I always do. Replace every switch with a rocker switch. I’ve done it in every house. I love the cleaner look and when I do I usually replace exterior ones with wifi switches and bathroom fans with timer switches.

Also ordered a new pool bot. Settled on dolphin explorer E70. I think it might be overkill

Tried my hand at doing brick veneers. Main mistake was using thinset instead of type s mortar like I am more used to (doing actual blocks, etc). The thinset behaves oddly to me but likely a skill issue haha. Installed floors and trim. This room got its final caulking tonight and will be done in the morning!

Heck yeah finally got this “library” room done. I think I am going to go get one of those Frame TVs that look like art when the tv is off.

Completed the glue down install of engineered hardwood in the main bedroom closet today, 96 sf. Had to use an angle grinder to remove paint and texture overspray and then was able to put down the floor. Managed to get glue everywhere but with the right urethane cleaner it was pretty easy to clean up. In two weeks the custom closet system will be installed.

Finished painting this antique cabinet for the wife.
She said not to paint the white inside but it looked awful so I painted it with enamel.
She said she wants to make the upper lower space a wine rack and have doors on the bottom.
That is way above my pay grade so she'll have to hire someone to either shorten the current doors or make newer lower cabinet doors.
I had to pull the chicken wire to paint it and I got one of them crooked putting them back.
She doesn't care, but I see it every time I look at it.
I'll pull it and restaple it next weekend..

    It's Milo approved...

She had the paint made to match her coffee maker, it is the current color theme in the kitchen..

What is the plan for the wood if not for heat?

Got 2 cords stacked today - 1/2 cord per row.
    IMG_1970.jpg

had to go get more dunnage, but the pile looks like it’ll be about 2-1/2 more rows (so 1-1/4 more cord)

Not that far into the decision making process. Roughly 1000SF so don’t need to be huge

    I'm sorry.
I put up an 8' folding table in the garage in 95° heat and laid out the doors.
Then laid the hutch on it's back on that table and did a couple of coats, front and sides.
Stood it upright to do the back that no one will ever see...

It looks like yours is bigger than mine...:eek2::cool::D
