Sorry about the belt Mdl, that is bringing flashbacks to my BMW belt nightmare.

Hopefully, you get it sorted easily.

Sweet! I have 2 showing up today too and will grab 2 more from another yard. Looking forward to see how they do. Once I get my tensioner and belt in will give em a go.
Got an Oscilloscope to test voltage pattern? Haha

Hey Folks ... I think I have a bad coupler in my TVS1900 ... discovered it on the trails yesterday...got progressively worse throughout the day...sounds like clattering coming from the snout...anybody have a good link for what this sounds like to verify? what's the recommendation for a replacement part?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm still rocking a green delrin coupler from zzperformance for like$20. Replaced 4 years ago.

I have the ZZP performance cheapo one too. Though some people swear by the SCOL $150 one (which is ridiculously priced). The truck I worked on recently I put the $150 one into since anecdotally it's better than the cheapo coupler and I wasn't paying for it, though I still don't know if I could convince myself to spend $150 on a literal round stock of plastic with six holes drilled in it, regardless how fancy they claim it to be.

Since both of you say it is fine, although I have no current need, for 25 bucks delivered, I just ordered it.

Hopefully, I can find it when I need it.

    Thanks

I originally had the jonbond one installed for about 6 years. So I guess the zzperformance has been in for about 7-8 years not 4 like I thought. @reywcms said he didn't get through a year or 2 with it.

Correct, I think my use case is harder on shit like this. Apparently whipple offers a carbon coupler which I'll have them throw in when I send the blower back next month.

I have to wonder if some snouts are more poorly aligned from the factory on some SCs causing excessive coupler wear. In my industry that uses similar couplers (usually rubber) such as large horsepower pumps, 2 things typically cause premature wear. #1 is poor shaft alignment and #2 is a lot of stopping and starting if the motor doesn’t have a VFD or soft starter.

Worn out tooling could definitely be a possibility. I had read that is one reason magnuson offered the 2650 now over the 1900 as they said the tooling was in need of replacement anyway, so why not offer the new larger blower instead.

Was able to get 2 coils at junk yard and got 2 from ebay. Would be great to see them on an oscilliscope to see any improvement. Tensioner is delayed so won't be until later. Hopefully they work out?!
@e30cabrio did you install or too hot today. At least it will only be 97 tomorrow.

Coils finally came, feel bad for the driver in 110+++ all day in an open truck. All are from sub 75k mile cars.

And here I am complaining about 95deg...
Figured I'd install since it cooled down. Hopefully no voltage drop and a consistent spark. If you get em in give an update. There is enough thread to snug them up but I bought new bolts 5mm longer. I can't start until my tensioner gets here.

I have replaced my S/C Coupler twice so far, the truck has 36k miles on it and the S/C has been on since day one, so not too bad.

Demummifying the coils was no fun, it's already 92. :(

Call me unreasonable but if I had to replace my SC coupler every 20k miles I’d lose interest in having a supercharger real fast. That’s just me though! Maybe if I had a proper workshop area set up already I’d feel differently.

I don't disagree it seems excessive, what is the rated interval? Fastlane, was there an extenuating circumstance?
