Just be mindful I think the Chevy trucks have a smaller center bore so if it’s an OEM wheel it won’t fit our trucks. Might be info from the 2.5/4R/tacoma side so don’t kill me on that if I’m wrong.

 

A little off Bestgen topic but related ... Anyone have experience with the "Toyota Genuine MVP" line of radiators (not the regular Genuine Toyota line) being better than aftermarkets like Denso from Rock Auto or the "Replacement" brand from Carparts.com (where I picked up a complete set of best priced Eagle Eyes front/back/side light fixtures for the BestGen recently)?

Have a Denso replacement radiator in the BestGen (from Napa) that's lasted since 2018. But on the 2004 Taco - swapped in a Denso (from Napa) in July 2020 that outlasted the 1 year warranty but looks like this today.

Can maybe get a Toyota MVP radiator locally on 7/8/24 or 7/9/24 for about $33 more than another Denso from RA that would arrive about same time. But don't think can wait roughly 10 days it took on my last Serra order to get a non MVP Genuine Toyota radiator from Serra on the 20% off sale for about $105 more than the Denso. And with this recent experience, unless the MVP will likely last longer than 4 years, seriously considering the $110 lifetime replacement from carparts.com and waiting until this weekend....meh!

Looking at these options:

• Toyota: Toyota Genuine #16410-AZ025 for $245.60 from Serra (but took about 10 days to arrive on last Serra order.)
• Toyota: Toyota Genuine MVP #16410-AZ025 for $173 after local 20% discount (hopefully pickup 7/8/24 with 12 month warranty).
• Rock Auto: Denso brand #2213138 for $140.99 shipped arriving 7/9/24 (1 year warranty)
• Carparts.com: Replacement brand #P1755 for $110.45 shipped arriving 7/13/24 (with "lifetime replacement" warranty).

also the exact same thing for my parents. No doubt when my dad passes, my mother’s hoarding will only get worse. I’m sure at some point i’ll have to get multiple 40 yard dumpsters delivered to their house. That and have a HUGE bonfire for everything else that’s burnable!

It's pretty epic out here. Trees are swaying hard AF. Already have a huge limb down that took out the fence next to the pool

It's a miracle this limb didn't land on the house. It's the biggest downed limb we've ever had at this place. I can't even see the extent of just how big it is. But when I go look out the side windows of the pool house, all I can see is leaves. I'd bet the limb is bigger than two turd gen tundras.

 

I generally go full aluminum when I replace a radiator because worst case I will weld up a leak tempermantly. Brittle BMW cooling system plastic made me this way.

I Wanted the Mishimoto aluminum for the tundra, but with the Denso 1/3 the cost I gave it a shot. The fit/finish of the Denso unit is really nice. Kinda unsettling to see your pictures.

Mishimoto does offer a plastic tanked model for the tundra/tacomas that you might want to check out. Priced cheaper than everything you linked and a legitimate lifetime warranty that I trust.

I misspoke, turns out the giant limb is actually an entire 100+ year old pecan tree. Damn. I really liked that one too. That's at least the fourth tree we've had uprooted by severe weather in about 8 years.

 

If I were local we'd cut that thing into firewood and smoke meats in it's honor.

Wow! So glad it missed both buildings! Looks like the tap root just broke right under the trunk - that is some crazy stuff as the leaves look great.

Pecans are amazing trees - my favorite to smoke with (also love peach for fruity flavor), love eating the pecans . . but - wow are they a lot of work in between fruit cycles. They drop leaves, fluffy seeds, they drop this resin like crap early summer, they only produce eatable fruit every 3-5 years.

 

Happened to a friend of mine. Dad re-married to a person who developed hoarder tendencies later on. He had to go down and clear out the house with a dumpster. He drove away after an entire day of making her give up stuff that was clearly garbage. Realized he forgot his phone charger about 20 minutes down the road, turned around to grab it, got there, and she'd already pulled both cars out of the garage and had about 1/5 of the dumpster reloaded where the cars were.

Dad got cancer some time later. I remember he mentioned it ended up being a struggle because she was still hoarding, and it was impacting his health being virtually buried in shit, but they couldn't get her to stop, not even under the circumstances. Really messed up. NGL, I definitely have a habit of keeping certain things around, but I can tell garbage from actually useful stuff. I'll never be that dude with acreage that's got 10 cars laying around because "I'll get around to restoring it, some day". I met far too many of those dudes in my teens and 20s and 30s when I was most-heavily into the hot rod scene, hunting older stuff to work on. Back when I was adventurous enough to drive up to a stranger's house and knock. These days you don't dare, people care so little about human life they'll shoot you through the door.

Amazing trees, but hot dam do they drop a lot of limbs. At least over here in GA they tend to. The only thing that drops limbs worse is Sweetgums, maybe Tulip Poplar.

Worth noting the GMT800 he's driving has over 300k and the money light (CEL) is lit up.

I am absolutely losing my mind trying to get my brakes to bleed.

Everything is new besides calipers and wheel cylinders. Drums are adjusted pretty close to what they should be. I’ll explain the whole process in detail in my refresh thread once I figure this out.

MC was bench bled. Everything was bled in the correct order. RR, LSPV, LR, FR, FL. Zero air coming out, straight fluid. Used like a gallon of fluid. Bled with both a vacuum bleeder and the normal two person method. Everything is tight. No leaks. Didn’t bottom out the MC and blow it up. I’ve bled brakes before. I know what I’m doing.

Pedal goes to the floor. Has anyone else experienced this??? I’m going crazy. The truck has been out of commission for weeks. I need to get it fixed.

Does United Airlines consider chainsaws as carry on luggage? I have a 32” bar i can slip down my pant leg, but i’d need to sit in an emergency exit seat since i won’t be able to bend my knee.

If the master was replaced maybe it might push enough fluid to bench bleed but fail to hold uder pressure? Is it from LAPS and can be traded out?

 

This is actually the 2nd master cylinder I’ve put on it. The first one was a used OEM one that I bought from a 60k mile truck that was parted out. The second is brand new from the parts store. Both have done the exact same thing.

I’ve also made sure that the acorn nut in the booster is correctly adjusted, and it’s good.
