Not necessarily. Mercedes got around it, building vans overseas and then disassembling them to reassemble (“build”) them here to avoid the tax. I’d love to see diesel regulations ease up now that the EPA can no longer write, interpret, and enforce its own laws.

 

Love to see DEF get shitcanned. EGRs too. It's such a scam. Same for corn in gasoline.

I don’t mind clean diesel emissions. But phuk EGR and complicated systems that can limp the truck. Need a middle ground.

 

I'd like to see what building the car twice does for ether prices or profit margins.

 

I find it interesting that ethanol in gasoline actually contributes to smog. And of course we all know what it does for fuel economy.

 

Do you really think DEF offsets it's own manufacturing, bottling in plastic, and shipping around the country? I don't.

 

In God I trust, all others must bring facts and data. I will keep an open mind, but your point is valid. But a few gallons of Def spread across 6-8,000 miles has potential to offset its costs.

Now Ethanol is another story. Even the greenie’s will tell you it’s a break-even at best.

 

We shall see… I am definitely hitting it with some Griots soon, but might do sometime special instead.
