Love my MYP but Tesla service is doodoo. Has to wait weeks for mobile visit that ended up being mobile confirmation, then had to book in service center for 6 weeks out. Got notified they are changing from Saturday to Thursday an extra week out. Asked for a Saturday appointment as I’m sick of weekday shit…….thats an extra 4 weeks out like bro

 

My experience is similar

except flat tires… they will jump on that

Flew out of and in from Austin for Disney. Did one way rental each time and the rental home is a Silverado EV WT

 

Man. The Silverado EV is better than the Lightning but boy is it pricey. The rental is the WT, so it’s the base but it’s still pretty well equipped. About as quick as I expected for the base trim.

The highlight is the range and efficiency. I picked it with like 80% charge and it had 375 miles of range. 1.5hrs later and 80-85 mph with a few stops and idles to get lunch and pick up the dog I ended with a trip of 103 miles driven and 140 miles of range depleted. It’s quiet and spacious. The regen braking is not strong but it’s quite efficient.

Frunk space is good, not as good as Lightning but better than CT. It drives like an ICE truck and the interior layout looks good and would be a good transition to an EV

Surprisingly the seats weren’t too bad. It was the WT so it was manual seat adjustments yet had power steering wheel, windows, locks, etc (wtf to that). Has great space in the rear seats. The blind spot monitoring in the mirrors i like. Standard adaptive cruise worked well.

It was a rental and it had been in an accident prior but it did have some undercarriage creaking while driving slowly. So don’t know if it’s typical GM quality or one off.

I’d rank it above the lightning but below the CT. The CT honestly wins off the handling and tech alone. It’s unmatched so far. Id bet the RST is great but these GM price tags are pretty bad. CT AWD is way better value.

 

@Breathing Borla I don’t know if they’re different but the seats in the Silverado EV WT were pretty comfortable.

 

last sat i drove 600 miles towing on Saturday, I was so thankful for no gm seats out of that AT4 I tested , I thought of you lol

my tundra seats were fine for an all day deal.

I turn around tomorrow and do that same 600 back, towing is such a pleasure with these things

 

Reverse and cams are ass. Tesla and Toyota still have best rear, angle, and rear view cameras

 

Last night went out and charged up just to top off and check charging speed.

I’m not sure where we are with Tesla superchargers and cross use but I’d never own a non Tesla.

CCS charging location is trash. There’s very few and it was in a sketch area at a ridiculous $0.60 per kWh rate. Obviously home charging is the way but if I relied on supercharging, no way.

I peaked at 177kwh charging and was like 360 miles charging per hour, with a drop off at 80%.

It was a fun truck but I’d take a CT. Looks aside the CT steering and performance is too much of a weighted category to ignore.

 

Should be more than $1k, IMO.

If someone does buy it imagine how much it will cost to replace the 55" screen when it goes bad about 2 weeks after the warranty is over.
