If I can still handle camping/hunting, then I'll probably keep my Tundra. If not, then it's one of these, leaning towards the bus...

With everything going electric soon and me still being at least 15-20 years from retirement, I decided now is the time for a “last” ICE car.

Let me know which you want taken off your hands. I've got a few Meyers Manx and an Allison Daytona, but I'd love that bus!

My retirement vehicle has come in! Hopefully they still have gasoline when I retire, anyways.

Well, I can't argue buying a quality sports car that you enjoy.

I need to win that mega millions. Then I can have one of many cars.

    Still in the running:

    Cadillac ATS V

    464HP. That's a good time

There is just something about these little rockets. Pretty practical all things considered. Still find these with under 10k miles for 35-43k

    IMG_3975.jpg

    Cadillac CTS V

    640HP. That's a sporty time.

Nothing practical about this car, but you only live once. 64-80k depending on options and mileage.

    IMG_3976.jpg

Still have a pull to the C6 Corvette. I finally decided that the Z06 is out. They pull a premium cost and when you get the car home one better put some heads on it or repair the factory ones. Spending that kind of money on a car and then immediately dropping another 5k plus just seems foolish. ZR1 is out due to cost. Now a Grand Sport with the LS3 is right up my alley. They have a lot of parts from a Z06 without the problematic motor.
For instance, this car has 22k miles, supercharged, ZR1 wheels, etc for around 40k. 610 HP is nothing to laugh at with a 3300 lb sports car.

    IMG_3978.jpg

    Cadillac CT-4 V Blackwing

    472 HP

The newer version of the ATS V, these sports sedans are so temping. One can be had between 55-62k pretty easy with low miles to brand new at that price.

I don’t feel like it would be wise to start riding motorcycles at 40, so I got one of these instead… vinyl graphics on order too :p

an early 2000's Porsche RS but they have never come down in value it seems since new so it remains just a dream. I bought all the cars I have before retirement so I would probably sell something to buy something else. Maybe another FJ40 someday.
A boat has been my mind as I extremely close to 3 lakes. My WWII 15 man assault craft is to hard to handle alone, too much work to enjoy yourself. My last day of work was Feb 28, 2023 and don't see myself having a chance to be bored.
I don't think I have showed these before?

I did just that (started riding at 40), and am very glad I did. I’m also at the stage in life where I don’t care what others think about what I do, so if you don’t like it, you can get off my lawn. :D

I think it would be immensely fun, but simply don’t trust myself from a safety perspective and drivers in my city are HORRIBLE.

I get that, believe me. For myself, I came to the decision that the fear of “not living” outweighed my fear of something bad happening while riding. That said, I purposefully stayed away from bikes in my younger years for a similar self-distrust, with that need 4 speed I used to feel.

As for other drivers, yeah, they’re ALL damn fools and idiots that are trying to kill you. I like country back roads with little to no traffic, lucky for me there’s plenty of them in my area.

I don't dare by a large bike. 250 is it for me. I have Honda 400 ATV's for off road fun but ride the bike generally on country roads where I live. Riding in the foothills here, the Bambi element is a real hazard. If I did not have the concern of one jumping in front me it would be even more enjoyable. I prefer to keep the other collarbone intactDSC_0209.jpg IMG_0207 (1).jpg DSC_0253.jpg

I like where you are going with the 4 door sedan and a big motor, would be my pick as well.

I just watched a few MX trainers talk about 450cc bikes and how 98% of people shouldn't be on them. The trainers can't keep up with the pro's and how fast these bikes are...let alone the general weekend warriors. I tend to agree and probably why I have had a few injuries due to the 450's. If I ever get another, 250-300cc two stroke or 250-300cc 4 stroke for me.

I need something that's still practical. Love me some Corvette, but that is why I sold my last one. It just isn't practical in CO (not that I'm staying here) or with a family of four. My tundra was more enjoyable than the corvette.

If its not practical you will not use it. If you do not use it what is the point of owning it.
If maintenance costs/ ground clearance/price were no issue to me I would haul my dirt bike/sled and camp with a Porsche panamara. Big ol 4 door hatch that hauls ass.

    Narrowed down to this:

    Cadillac CT4 V Blackwing.

After some really hard research and watching these cars develope...I would totally be happy with this as a fun car with family capabilities. I will get the 10 speed automatic. It's faster and stronger since we all know this jackass can't keep anything stock.

    Honorable mentions:

Cadillac CTS V. These cars are insane...but have some quirks I don't like (sunroof and interior carbon fiber issues) that I am not willing to deal with on the regular. These are getting older now (last year was 2019) and for the money might as well suck it up and purchase a newer CT5 V Blackwing....not that having a 668 hp dad car is any more practical.

Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing. Just out of my budget. A used one with 30-50K miles is still 80K.

Lexus IS500/Lexus GS F/RC F. I really want to like these cars, I just can't. For the money one can get a different car that will do circles around them. They just seem unfinished in some areas. I have driven a IS500 and RC F. Both are different (duh) but still felt the same. Great motor, ok handling, ok brakes, crap transmission (good transmission...just shifts like old people screw).

Cadillac ATS V. Last model year was 2019 (or 18) and for the money...might as well get a newer CT4 Blackwing.

When I was considering a two door sports car:

Mustang GT500 2020 or newer. These cars are insane and perform well. Never owned a Ford since high school..so this would have been new. I have watched Edmonds U drags and the long term reviews of their GT500 and it has been outstanding. Price is a problem...and even though there are rear seats....yeah. Cheapest Shelby 500 in the nation right now with 28K miles is 74000.00.

Toyota Supra...or should I say BMW Z4? Another vehicle I wanted to love but just couldn't. I sat in one...and that was fun getting into. This isn't the main problem though. Service is. I have heard a lot of complaints about the Toyota service department and the BMW drivetrain. This is such a disappointment for me. In 1997 a friend had a new Supra and that was a damn fun car. The new Supra is as well and is even faster but doesn't have the "toyota" feel if that makes any sense. Might as well just get a BMW. Hell they are cheaper on the used market.

Corvette. Been there done that kind of thing. Great bang for your buck if two seats is all you need. Cars and coffee is a must with shorts, knee high socks, and crocs.

I just hope by the time I'm old and can't drive that cars are fully self driving and safe. That is my retirement "dream car". Up to that point, I hope to still have a couple Land Cruisers. Gave up motorcycles when I had kids, and enjoy offroading much more than driving sports cars.

I hear that. Have the off-road part covered. Now just need a daily car again. My daughters Corolla S is cool....just slow.

This will be a daily driver, but I don't have to go anywhere...so good point. The auto/standard have very close performance a higher speeds, but from a dig the auto outperforms. Not sure I would notice .1 on 0-60 times.

Don't get me wrong, if the right deal came around on a standard CT4 V Blackwing...it wouldn't stop me from buying it. Being that the standard transmission is 2300.00 cheaper and slightly lighter....

I should have stated we still need to have a family fit test in the CT4. If that is cramped then back to the drawing board. Not sure what options are after that.

from what I've seen on the V forum and Youtube, the 4 is pretty cramped. My kids are still in car seats though, so way bigger issue than if yours aren't. At that point my vote is pony up for the 6MT 5 - yolo haha

Whatever this forum told me to do
Cadillacs are roomy. (The Tesla backseat...not so much.)

My son's friend's father has a blackwing. very cool ride....in a Bruce Wayne kinda way.
