You are the 1% then. I cannot remember the last time I saw a car that messy that didn’t sound like it was running on veggie oil.

I can honestly say, anyone under the age of say...30, has no idea how to maintain an auto.

50-75% over 30 have no idea.

That's how much of a gamble the used market is.

ponder this...when/how do folks know to change oil?

the car has to tell them after 10,000 miles!!!

    clown world.

Maybe not... to me that screams family and dog(s), and sometimes people don't have the time or desire to keep the inside of their vehicles 'presentable'. But, that doesn't necessarily mean they haven't cared for the mechanical components. I know many that will pay out the ass to have their vehicles maintained mechanically, but don't want to pay anyone to handle or manipulate the 'living' space inside of the vehicle.

    it's ponderous.

we teach our kids all kinds of stupid shit.

not how to maintain our possessions.

I do my best to teach my kids basic skills. and I start by telling them WHY we do this.

What @Tripleconpanna said. My wife hates when I clean the garbage out of her car but she can't argue when I say it's due for an oil change.

But this person is trying to sell their car. It isn’t a Facebook post in the dirty car; clean engine club.

I show up to your house unannounced to say hello (see you soon @Tripleconpanna ) I don’t have a problem if the bathroom is dirty. But if you invite all the family over for the holiday phuk’n vacuum and clean the toilet.

You will get more phone calls about the car and more money on the sale if it is clean. Someone that cannot be bothered to spend $20 to have the local car wash grunts vacuum it and slap on some nasty Fresh French Vanilla dash wipes isn’t changing their oil or using top-tier gas or whatever.

It just screams maintenance nightmare to me…

Just to be clear, I'm not even interested in the car. But figured I'd repost the photos just for fun. I agree with most. It's a hard pass to take my time to go look at it. I just can't believe someone even posted photos like this for all the car buying world to see and judge them.

Yeah, good point. I'd never list a car for sale in that condition. But people are stupid and lazy. :notsure:

The vehicle looks like it went right to auction, before anyone has a chance to clean it.

This actually makes a lot of sense. But wouldn't the dealer listing it be smart enough to not use any photos from auction and just detail it and post photos in a day or so? The same reasoning applies as far as I'm concerned. Don't be lazy and cut corners. To some (or a lot of us) your work ethic matters when I'm choosing whom I do business with.

    Just venting....

I'll be traveling to California (Glendale)in a couple weeks to tend to some family biz.

My Texas nature will not fare well in those hostile lands.

among a plethora of other things...I am completely pissed about non-reciprocity of concealed carry.

Depends on the dealer. I've even seen some lazy ass photos with dirty vehicles taken from the big guys like Mountain States.

I keep reading for information purposes but that is not working out very well since everyone sounds like genius’ over there. So much speculation thrown all over. I type something… open another window and browse for a while, come back and read and think “What is the point?” Sad

It's pretty frustrating, I hate traveling in that situation. Keep your head on a swivel and look shady characters straight in the eye, they don't like messing with confidence.

if I walked up to my truck to buy it, especially the last one, that was filled with tools and filthy 24/7, I might assume the owner was busy, beat the shit out of it and missed a few oil changes.
that wouldn't have been the case if someone was buying a truck of mine, so agree with: always a gamble when buying used on faith.
that's why I buy new, buy Toyota and plan to keep long term. I don't have to worry about the used situation.

Add me to that list! The amount of nature adventures I have mean that I am always driving and walking in dirty places so the exterior and interior of my truck are often quite dirty but I cannot remember the last time I was even slightly late on my oil change or any other maintenance.

90 minutes and I am out of here for 12 days. Granted I am headed to China on Sunday but it beats the office!

That really annoys me too. Two of the three bordering states do not reciprocate. Minnesota you have to actually get in contact with a sheriff's department and plead your case on why you should be able to carry and then we all know about Illinois's super awesome gun laws that work so well.

This has been a very long day for me. My little girl (my dog) went in for some work. She kept licking but it was weird they way she did it because it looked like she was trying to show me something. Upon deep inspection we found a chipped tooth that did not look good at all. Took her in and she had a fracture on her jaw. She runs like 100mph and goes through small holes but occasionally has accidents.

I have been more worried about her going under than when I had my operation. Love my little girl!!
