2000 Tundra SR5, Doublecab V8 (2011-2015): Bought in 2011 (I think) as a second vehicle because my Cherokee was becoming less than enjoyable to drive daily. Ended up with 265/75/16s, Bilstein 5100s and a BAMuffler set-up. I loved that truck. Bought it with about 90k on it, and put over 100k on it in about 5 years. I had just gotten my dream job and the transmission was starting to act sketchy so I traded her in for a slightly used Tacoma since I could finally afford it, but I miss this thing!
2013 Tacoma DCSB TRD Offroad (2015-2020): I loved this thing. Perfect size, enjoyable to drive, and went everywhere I tried to take it. The only thing I ever did to it was throw quality 265/75/16s on it but it went all over the South East and spent a lot of time in GWNF taking me to some great, hard to reach camping spots. Really showed me how capable a very mild, well sorted IFS truck could be, especially with a locker and ATRAC.
2012 GX460 (2020-Present): Yes, not technically a Toyota here in the states but we all know she's part of the club. Picked her up in the beginning of the pandemic as my wife wanted to move out of her Golf Alltrack back into an SUV.
2020 Tundra SR5 Crewmax: Traded the Tacoma in for this in April 2020 when I finally accepted that the second kid meant we had officially outgrown the Tacoma. First truck I picked up brand new; we actually leased it at first thinking I would want to move up to a 3rd gen as soon as they came out, but COVID availability + dealer mark-ups eventually convinced me I should just keep this thing for the long haul. She doesn't quite have the soul that the Tacoma and 1st gen Tundra had, but she's been so reliable and I've never had a truck for which I've subjected this much abuse/modification too that drives (and is maintainable) like she just rolled off the lot.

    Nice list!
    1. I would have to go with the bought new 85' 4Runner... always wanted a solid axle 4Runner, never found one in good enough shape to buy.
2nd would be either of the 94' Supras. Great work!

My family has always been into Toyotas. I got my first at 17, and I’ve owned quite a few. In addition, I’m a former Toyota technician, and my brother is a current MDT for Toyota. All said and done between myself and the rest of my family we’ve had close to 25 Toyotas since the early 80’s.

    • 1990 Pickup, 3.0 5spd 4x4, regular cab (still have the bed, totaled it and made a trailer)
    • 1998 T100, 3.4 5spd 4x4 extra cab, supercharged, lotsa goodies, still own it, currently in process of a SAS.
    • 1989 Camry, 2.5 V6 5spd, totaled by a roughneck moron in a unregistered and uninsured Ram 2500
    • 1994 Pickup, 4cyl 5spd 2wd, bought with 327k on it, lent to a friend and he blew the motor at 330k. It was a rust bomb beater with a heater to get me back and forth to work.
    • 2006 Corolla XRS, 1.8 6spd, my unicorn, the one I let get away. Quick little bottle rocket, the XRS was a Corrola with the Celica GTS drivetrain. The motor redlined at 8500 rpm, and had Toyota’s VVTL system, similar to Honda’s VTEC. There wasn’t a single day I owned that car that it didn’t see triple digits at least once, and it still averaged 28-30 mpg.
    • 2015 Tundra CM, my big kid truck. Bought to tow and retire my T100 to fun stuff, haul the family and be my DD when gas was cheaper lol. Currently adding to it to make it the light duty family wheeler also.
    • 1994 Pickup, 4cyl 5spd 2wd. My grandfathers truck, he bought in 1997. My dad bought it off him, taught me and my brother how to drive in it, then gave it to my brother as a graduation present. He had to sell it during COVID to a friend, but I bought it back in November 2021 to save gas on my 50 mile round trip to work. Never leaving the family again, my son wants it now lol. Haven’t tested it yet lol. I taco’d the steering in Moab Father’s Day 2021, and that started the SAS journey. I’d been collecting parts for a few years at that point but it got moved up.
The axle is a GM 3/4 Dana 44, bought it with a Detroit locker, 4.88’s, chromoly shafts and Reid racing knuckles. SAS kit is from WFO Concepts with their 1 ton steering.

other than that the truck is supercharged with a URD 7th injector and 2.1 pulley. Rear diff has a Harrop Elocker, first one sold for the 8.4 in the US. Recently regeared to 4.88’s to match the front.

*whistle* Hella nice. I've always wanted to help with an SAS - just to learn. The Dana has 31 or 35 splines? I had a 3/4 ton Ford with Dana 60s front & rear. She was a beast.

Did you just install the RCI bumper? Not surprised we’re all over lol.

I think the 44 is 31 spline. Can’t remember the inner count but the outer is 19 if memory serves correct.

Hopefully money gets less tight in the next few months, I’d love one for mine. Not sure if I’ll be able to, we just picked this up yesterday

Yea I keep a close eye on them lol. But the economy and life just ain't cooperating. Besides, I need to quit back burnering my other truck and get the SAS finished.

    Currently have a 2010 Corolla
    2019 Tundra and a 2019 Highlander.
The Corolla was the high mileage and reliable back up car for the two Jeeps we had when they were constantly in the shop before we got rid of them for the newer Toys.
