I’m trying to figure out how to remove the arm from the motor for the active spoiler. I’ve already removed the spoiler itself, but I want to remove the arm also since it hangs below the bumper when actuated. I’m keeping the motor mounted and plugged in to prevent a code.

Has anyone removed the arm in addition to the spoiler? I tried removing the bolt that passes through, starting pulling out the guts but couldn’t get the actual arm out so I put it all back together.

Just curious because I'm in the same boat. When you left the motor plugged in, did you get codes initially? I just had an aftermarket bumper installed and had to remove the air dam.

No codes with the motor in place and plugged in.

Mine still has the spoiler. I’m probably gonna remove the spoiler at some point but probably just leave the motor like the instructions say.

Awesome, thank you. All I got to do is unplug it. No fuses to pull?

I’m not sure on that. According to the lift install instructions, the motor stays on and plugged in. You are just removing the spoiler so the motor is still there but doesn’t move anything. I have read a few post of people unplugging the motor and not getting any errors, but have also read a bunch of people getting errors.

I think the technician left the motor but it is unplugged. I'm getting the "Parking Support Brake Malfunction" and Active Shudder error.

When I unplugged the motor on my 2024 TRD Sport it gave a warning on the dash. So I removed spoiler and left motor in place and plugged in.

I’ve watched a few full bumper install videos from C4 Fab. In their videos they remove the arm to cut it down and reinstall it. So it would seem the whole assembly should stay installed. I’m just going to cut mine down at some point.

Thanks for mentioning the video. Since the motor has to stay in place. I’ll just remove the dam from the motor and leave the arm.
