I just bought a bunch of blacked out 2nd gen emblems when I was swapping out the ones on my truck. It was an extra. So I stuck it there cause some people need to be reminded of what they just stepped into

You should have another USB port in the back of the radio. I'd get a USB extension cable ($5 almost anywhere you can imagine) and tee it off the USB port you probably have in the rear of the deck, maybe route it out to somewhere convenient, like the ashtray, or maybe the side of the dash near the gas pedal.

On @The Black Mamba's suggestion, I went out and got one recently. My Alpine supports wired CarPlay only. I personally purchased The Magic Link, it was only $79 on scAmazon that day. Works like a champ, took all of 15-20 seconds to set it up, you set it up once and ... DONE! I get into my truck, start it up, and within 20 seconds or so, CarPlay kicks in w/o me touching my phone. Splash screen comes up to tell you to connect, but it auto-connects for me not long after the screen appears. I leave it plugged into USB inside the hidden cubby of my center console.

I'd like it if the 'initial connection' speed was a little faster. My one grip is, there's a slight delay (~1s) in controls, like, I'll tap the skip-track button, and I see the head unit update to the next song, but audio takes about ~1s for audio to catch up and start playing. Also, for some reason, the text message notification is unusually loud. Otherwise ... flawless.

I also like that, with Google Maps via CarPlay, it doesn't fully cut the audio like it normally does with Bluetooth, it just announces the directions clearly over slightly attenuated audio.

Does your ring tone on incoming calls come in as loud as text or matched volume to the music? I know that I can change the notification volume separate from the audio volume. If The ring tone is the same loud volume like the text tone, just hit the volume down button on the unit while it is ringing and that should take care of the text tone too.

I need to wait and see on that one. I've only logged about 150mi with it installed and I don't like talking on the phone, so people who know me rarely call.

I did go thru the CarPlay settings on the radio, and I think on my phone also, and I didn't see anything last time I checked.

    :rofl::thumbsup:
Never got ahold of anything bigger than the typical M80 or M100 back in the day. MI had strict laws back then, now you can buy/use big stuff but only in like a few day window around the 4th.
Experienced one of the most concussive explosions ever at a beach party on Lake Michigan one night though. Dudes set up something at the lake shore behind a big log.
We were not paying much attention by the fire slightly elevated and at about 30-40 yards away maybe. It hit awful hard, kind of pushed you back. They said it was an artillery simulator or something?
Still pretty vivid in my head after over 35 years.

I would think you'd want a transfer case from a 1st gen taco or 3rd gen 4runner since they used the A340 4AT

I think it was stated in one of those threads it wasn’t beefy enough. Didn’t they make a V8 T4R, did the V8 come in manual flavor?

The V8 T4R's (even non vvti) all came with the A750. Only manual 4th gen T4R was the 4.0 V6 6MT.

I can almost guarantee the first gen 3.4 4x4 tundra used the exact same transfer case as the 3.4 4runner (3rd gen) and 3.4 first gen taco

I thought @The Black Mamba was looking for a transfer case for his 3.4 tundra 4wd conversion

It is worth mentioning the first gen tacos had two transfer cases available. One with a J shift and one with a straight shift (I don't know what else to call it).

In other news, the new to me URD o2 sim is working. The SG2 showed the monitors are all ready.
I guess since it's Friday I should make a poll as to whether or not I should :sawzall:my cats now...

Spoke to the owner of this Terminator Tundra today. Said he inherited it from his dad. It's in excellent shape. I did my good deed and warned him about the LBJ's.
