I think what is being questioned is your statement that "Ford CEO says they are benchmarking Toyota's Tundra for tech then that indicates to me Ford is still using outdated technology." which makes no sense as per usual...

what exactly performed bad on the test drive? Mine has been flawless and I love my truck.

I run Toyo A/T 3s, and a Bakflip cover. I have had no issues with my truck. It returns on average 18-20 mpg in a 4 wheel drive with big all terrains on it that is not bad.

just kinda a inside joke between Bannerman and myself at this point.

when I was shopping for trucks and testing them all the F-150 powerboost crapped out on the test drive and I have a video of the inside going all haywire with error codes.

It doesnt bother me at all, it's only like 1" or 2", but I totally get the subjectivity of it. I like the huge size and I will say this, it's the clearest highest def screen I have seen in a truck, it's super sharp.

the older I get the bigger screen I need and like, lol., damn eyes.

lol, I haven't in a long time, didn't want to set Bannerman off again, he's tame now and talking fishing more, HA

let's just hope I don't have to eat crow with a video with my shit on the side of the road, damn that would suck.

but I still love this truck so far and would buy another tomorrow if this one goes.

    ya, lol.

I mean they were friendly and said we're really sorry and do you want us to fix it and then you can buy it, and I respectfully passed. It's a good dealer that is highly rated, but shit happened.

I was just too turned off for it after that.

The article you linked doesn't support your statement at all. It mentions benchmarking quality, not tech.

I think I compared the two pretty objectively and don't see where the Tundra leads in tech. Toyota doesn't even hide that - they tend to hold back intentionally to maintain quality.

I had the powerstroke diesel F150, I loved that truck too it was a lariat with the bench seat and would go 680+ miles on a tank of diesel. The 3 liter they used in it from Ford Europe is a proven design. Why it only lasted 2 model years is beyond me but it was a stout truck.

Ford sync systems are quirky and freeze up from time to time just part of the design and it doesn't matter if it is in a $80k Raptor or a $20k Ford Edge or whatever.

It was on a pod cast somewhere; Jim Farley did say he wanted to copy Toyota's Tundra technology as he thought the tech in it was great.

If you're going to keep saying this, you should actually produce the evidence. I think even the die-hard Tundra guys are skeptical of your claim here.

As built 10400 towing and 1800 payload
Wish I had more time to research but I kinda lucked out
My TT is only 5500 wet and I needed more payload more.
Ford has problems with bolt shearing on Max tow rear axles
If I wanted/needed more ,then f250 is way to go but they ride rough and tuff around town

Should serve you well. I tow a little heavier than that and it's a breeze. Well except for the fuel mileage but that's forced induction for you.

It was quoted several times, I may not be able to find the exact quote but he is talking here about Toyota tech and his time there. Transforming Ford and his relationship to his cousin the legendary Chris Farley.

Which I found funny since he looks kind of alike

Ford executive Jim Farley launched Toyota's Camry, Lexus, RAV4, Tundra (freep.com)

Quality benchmark. Not tech. You said tech in your first comment about this.

And Ford did a better job executing on it. The performance is better, the mpg's are better and they made it not a 500 lb paperweight for a lot of people by including the generator functionality.

    Self-drivingish.

I dont think it can literally drive you from point a to point b with zero intervention but it allows hands free driving on roads that are part of their established system. I believe it will change lanes for you on the freeway even.

Seriously, this crap about Ford is a joke. You buy the frame when you purchase a Ford F150. They are probably the least safe or one of the least safe trucks on the market. The seats in everything but the Raptor are a complete joke and look at how much Ford pays out in liability lawsuits every year. The only one worst is probably Dodge, but Ford does make a reliable truck. I never said they didn't it is the rest of the materials that are lacking and/ or are junk.

I have never seen a site that allows a competitor love fest go on for so long.

I think I will go to the Raptor forum and start this same thread, It wouldn't last 15 minutes and would more than likely result in my banishment from the site, I have been in this thread long enough and am done. I could care less if you drive your Ford to 100 thousand miles and 10 years at which time your $80k truck would be lucky to bring 20 grand.

As far as Toyota how many Tundras and Tacomas are for sale with 100 thousand plus miles for 30-40k? a lot more than Ford.
