Yeah well I did have a very serious concussion several years ago, so that might explain it. To be fair Ford does put a supercharged v8 which I was referring to in the R- which takes about that much torque to equal the hybrid Tundra anyway.

We got in them thick last weekend. When in shallow water, fishfinder thought we were nearly on bottom as the fish were 10 feet thick

Um, I guess? Hybrid max has 13 lb ft more than the Powerboost. Raptor R has a delta of 57 lb ft vs the hybrid Tundra and 700 HP.

There is a difference between torque and usable torque. The Raptor R will have far more usable torque than a Tundra hybrid, especially at speed and while towing. The Tundra hybrid seems to shut down the electric motor over 50mph in the towing videos I have seen, leaving you with just the torque of the V6, but with an extra 500 lbs of electrical parts along for the ride.

duuddddde. Seriously. Please do not compare to a Raptor, Raptor R, or the fucking Ranger Raptor. All are made for serious off-roading, like long travel suspension. And the Raptor R engine is on another level. Full stop.

The Powerboost is also quite a bit lighter so Im sure its not at a disadvantage. And get better mpg's, and has a 7.2 kw generator capability.

Hell a Raptor R on 37's is lighter than a Tundra iforce Max lol.

If I make it down to the lower bay I'll post some flounder pics. If not it will have to wait till our beach trip next month, catch dozens from the surf using bucktails and Gulp.

I have had 2 Raptors a supercab 11 lightning blue model and a 2018 Gen 2- The Tundra does the same things they did while I owned them of course I wasn't running the Baja 1000 or sand dune jumping them either.

Well since we no longer live in a free country, we are not allowed a flounder season at all in NC this year.....

We will be for sure going back a week in September and possibly in August, so I'm hoping to get offshore a bit and hopefully have some luck this summer still.

Do you take your GW past the inlet offshore or stay in the bays?

Offshore fishing up here hasnt been great, lot of wind. I should've tried the Cobia bite, it was on fire the last few weeks.

Farthest I went last year was 10 miles off shore, but since then I installed my permanent VHF and got an Epirb so I'll be going farther as I gain confidence and experience. Boat is not limiting me, but my ability to read the weather. Just need more time on the big water.

Yeah, even in a 30'-40' boat, the ocean is a very big place. Having a second handheld VHF isnt a bad idea too. Have friends who would go 40-60 miles in smaller CCs, would carry extra fuel just in case.

Yeah that's all I had last year was a handheld so I tried to stay at or close to cell phone range. Handheld is in the ditch bag now with the epirb. I've got an 80 gallon tank so with the 250 I've got decent range, following the 1/3 Rule.

Whatever you have 227 pages of crap devoted to the Ford F150, telling you how the Tundra is junk and the F150 the greatest truck every. I have owned 3 F150s in the past 15 years or so and when Ford CEO says they are benchmarking Toyota's Tundra for tech then that indicates to me Ford is still using outdated technology. I suggest anyone on here go to the Raptor forum comparing the Tundra as a superior product to the Raptor or F150 then you will either get banned or the thread would not be allowed to continue but yet this thread goes on for 220 plus pages maybe over 300 soon.

Look man, I have a Tundra. I like it. No problems. Is it better than a F-150 Tremor, yes and no just depends on the detail, at least that's why I bought it.

But when you are completely wrong on multiple topics, and you don't realize everyone is laughing at you and not with you, its time to come clean, apologize and maybe take a break from it.

    wow, have we digressed :)
I traded my 22 Tundra TRD ORP for a F150 XLT FX4 a few weeks ago. I had no plans to do this until the Engine Safety Recall and was planning for buying some BFG Trail Terrains in the fall. However, because we planned to travel a lot with our TT this year, we decided that we had no choice but to trade the Tundra. Ford and RAM were our only choices, but RAM is phasing out the Hemi, so I focused on the F150 (F250 is too heavy duty for our uses). Have not had the F150 long enough to give a comprehensive comparison vs. the Tundra. But, so far, the F150 with the 2024 updates, all digital dash, 12 inch (well integrated into the dash, not sticking up like it was an afterthought) screen, tow hooks, seems like a pretty nice, tech savvy truck. We do miss the Tundra and had planned to keep it for years,,, we just felt that we had no choice in the matter.

I never bring this up, because it's more personal preference than a hard fact, but that screen sticking up bugs me so bad. Afterthought is the exact word that came to mind when I first saw it.

I assume you got the 3.5? What gear ratio did you go with?

When did the CEO say that? And what tech? I don’t think Ford has had any issue staying ahead of the Tundra in terms of tech.

Let see, they brought a twin turbo v6 out in 2011, 11 years before Toyota

    A 10 speed in 2017, 5 years before Toyota

They have had a 4Auto transfer case since like 2012, Tundra still doesn’t.

A Hybrid powertrain, which actually works, 1 year before Toyota.

2021 F150s have blue cruise. Tundra doesn’t still.

Android Auto/Apple CarPlay in 2016, 3 years before the Tundra

here ya go from the authority,

Toyota Tundra Is 2024 Ford F-150 Quality Benchmark: Farley (fordauthority.com)

Look I am not a Toyota homer, it was my first ride a Celica GTS with maroon leather- it was the 80s but Ford's systems are less than ideal.

but according to you all the F150 is a superior product and the grass is greener over on the blue oval side. What does that tell you if Tundra is the quality benchmark -- what in the hell does that say about Ford's F150
