Strange issue which has happened twice now. I’m driving down the road, and I see the left side display showing the “press brake harder to stop/start” message. While I’m driving at about 50mph. First thing I think is, is this just a display bug? Or if I press the brake hard, is the engine going to actually stop, which means I’ll lose power steering and brakes? So I brake slow as I come to the next stop sign, then brake hard after I’m stopped and the engine stops and the display changes to the timer as it should. I leave the stop sign and get up to speed, and the timer message is still there, which it should not be, but it’s static and not changing. So I find a place to stop, turn the truck off, restart it, and the problem is resolved. This was about three weeks ago. Then this past Saturday, it did it again. Same symptoms.

So I really babied the brakes when this happened. I think most likely this is a display bug, but who knows? I sure didn’t want to brake hard while driving to test it. Anyone else experience this? I know better than to blow an afternoon at my dealer for a problem that I can’t reproduce. I’ve seen enough service invoices with “customer states…” and “could not reproduce…” and that would just be four hours of my life that I’ll never get back.

I have had two similar issues with mine. First was the radio volume popup staying there. That happened the first weekend I had the truck. The message went away and never stuck again. Then about a week and a half ago it happened again (4.5 months after the original happening). This time it was the auto start/stop. It activated after I left my house. The message stayed up for my whole commute. I would let it kick on at each stop (only a couple of stops) and it would increase the counter but the message would not go away. Finally on my last stop light, I didn’t let it activate. The “press brake more” message popped up and went away. The counter message went away too. I may bring it up when I am in for the 5k service, later this week, just to see if anyone else in the area is reporting a similar issue.

Keep us updated please if your dealer says anything other than “it worked fine for us - we don’t see a problem”.

Ok will do. I also have video of the issue, hopefully that helps them out.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
Are you enabling the Auto Off function (stops engine from shutting off when at a stop)?

If I don't press the "A" with the circle around it located on the lower left switch panel mine will show the message you note.

I always turn off the auto engine off option because I don't want the engine
turning off everytime I brake to a stop. When doing so "A" will show on the display.

If you do not press hard on the brakes the auto stop start will not activate. You get a message to press harder to activate. I use the hold all the time when I drive so when you soft press the brakes the truck will stay stopped.

Similar issue. When I'm parking. I put the truck in park with my foot on brake and the auto S/S activates so I release the brake and truck stays off without my foot on the pedal. Took it to dealer and they couldn't replicate. Now it still has the same issues only it starts back up as soon as I remove my seat belt. Of course I have a 06/22
    Production model.

Late update but my truck was at the dealer for a few days waiting on parts, for the front brake TSB, that ended up being backordered. I got it back yesterday and asked if they had any suggestions on the dash message issue but mentioned that they could not replicate it, as I expected would happen. They also said that my truck was the first one that they had seen where someone had mentioned this issue. The service advisor just said to monitor it and keep track of when it happens and if it starts happening more often.
