With all the negative this truck is receiving lately, and well deserved in terms of engine issues, I wanted to start a positive thread. This was my best MPG to date today. What is your best?

How FAR have you driven after fuel up to get that MPG? Also, what's the average speed for that distance? I'm at 18 mpg overall now but I only have less than 650 miles :). Need to have more reasons to drive the truck.

I've never come close to that. I don't have a lead foot and I'm getting ~17MPG throughout suburbia over the first 4k miles.

It was after I stopped for a coffee so the engine was hot already. I drove highway for about 30 miles. Highway I average about 23 to 24 but this was the highest ever. I average 60-65. I don't drive fast at all (not worth an accident or ticket) - insurance is expensive enough.

My hand calculation this morning was 20.5mpg. That was after 528 miles of mostly highway.(72 miles a day round trip, 68 of it is highway). Average of 75-80mph. I seem to get better mileage at 80 than I do at 70.

23.8 is the best so far. Normally get 19 around town.

I have seen 27 mpg in fall leaving deer camp driving 44 miles round trip to Walmart an back driving about 45 mph during deer season. Because of deer running across road all time.

Averaged 27+ for the loop from fill-up in Cody Wy to East entrance to Yellow Stone, around Yellow Stone, out at South Yellow Stone, back to Shoshone Wy and over to Casper for fillup. Over 540 miles and gas light had just come on (22 gallon tank).

Seeing you have 510 miles til empty you had just filled up, pulled out of the station and went downhill? My best ever on a 200 mi trip was 22.1 @ 60-65mph

We've gone on 2 cross country trips, 4000 miles each trip, fully loaded with vacation stuff, wife, and 2 large dogs. 95% interstate driving at 65-75 mph.

17 mpg each trip. Not great, but better than my 2015 Tundra. It averaged 14 mpg on the same trip.

The best i've seen so far was 19.8 non hybrid, 3 people, full bed, and mostly full cabin with extras I couldn't fit in.

We did almost 4k miles from Houston to Ridgeway, then Ouray, up Yankee boy (twice), then back to Ridgeway, over to Denver, up Rocky Mountain to go camping, back into Denver, then headed home. A few pedal-to-the-metal moments to get around people and we even stopped in Dallas and picked up some pedestals for my washer/dryer so they sat on top of the tonneau cover. I calculated 19.8 using fuely.

My best 50 mile average is 25.2 MPG. I average around 20 MPG per tank, and around 9.5 MPG when towing my travel trailer.

I drive the speed limit, or just above, which is 70-80 here. Also we have mountains.

    2022 Sierra 2500 Duramax.

If I'm going 55 without stop lights I can get 30 MPG sustained, but hard to go that slow for so long.

My 2024 non hybrid got 20.1 on an 800-mile round trip to Cali. With only 2200 miles on it. It will get better. Pretty jazzed about that.

Ive got a 23 non-hybrid 4x4. The best I've gotten at 70 mph is 23 mpg on a day with no wind. At that speed I typically see 20 to 21 mpg depending on the crosswind or headwind. The millage also seems to drop quite a bit as I go over 70 mph. But most of the time not below 19 mph.

65 and under is the golden spot. As a Canadian our speed limits are 60 unless on a freeway which is limited on the west Coast so I tend to get great milage ( which isn't why I bought the truck) . Put me on a freeway or an interstate and I could care less what my MPG is.

I have right around 3k miles and the best I’ve gotten was 19.4 mpg on a three hour drive and on stock tires. I usually do around 75 on the highway, I’m sure if I slowed down to 70 I could break 20 mpg. I recently switched wheels and tires and lost about 2 mpg on that same drive but really don’t care much about the mpg as I know it’s a truck and not known to get good gas mileage. I have only put premium in the truck since I’ve owned it so I don’t know why 87 would do if anything.

About as good as it gets these days. 12 miles on the freeway at about 65MPH.

definitely took a hit with the 35s and level but I love it

This is not an average but a best case. I bet you have had runs in the mid 20’s too.

Not better than most, but I am averaging right at 19.0 over 2000 miles. Most trips are 30 miles at 70+ mph (commutes). I note that the Trip ODO is telling me 21-22 during those trips.

During a trip to the lake on June 6 I was able to get 20.8 with my ‘22 Tundra (leveled and 34’s) driving no more than 60 and unloaded, taking it very easy.
Last night the family made a road trip in my new GMC Duramax 3.0 at speeds 65-73, 11 towns with stoplights, and 2 stops for food and to pee which I left the truck idle.

You guys should all be very pleased with those numbers. As you will be happy to know I have never gotten better then 12 MPG. Not sure if it doesn’t read correct or just bad mpg.

Level it and add 34's - still won't be apples to apples. I get 30 mgp in my Audi averaging 80+ mph. Still not apples to apples. Glad you got a pee stop! I think we can all agree with that!
