Post #1647 is how we "flush" mounted the Pioneers.

Zero lag here in that regard.

Mine is almost like a computer. Slow or non-existent response while booting up.

Making me go back and read… ;)

I’m not sure if the Kenwoods would allow for that. Pretty sure if you did, it would cover part of the climate control. Don’t have enough experience with the Alpines to know how flush you could get it in the Tundra. Out of the question with the 4Runner. They really don’t look out of place without being able to flush mount.

Yeah I was thinking it's a touch sensitivity issue. I don't recall seeing any adjustments. I'll look online and see.

I have mine as close to the dash as it can go I think. I'll try to remember to get a pic from the side later tonight when I get off work.

I love it. Sounds great functions very well. I have no complaints. Apple wireless needs a reboot here and there but that is common with every HU I’ve tried

Yeah I installed it last week. I agree, the Alpine functions very well and I’m already used to it. Very intuitive layout for all functions and buttons.

It’s proved to be a much better solution to technology then buying a 3rd gen.

    I had the same thought.

The Alpine basically is the control center of the truck now.

I do love how I can pull up transmission temps and all the other gauges that aren’t in the instrument cluster. I believe we can pull up error codes and descriptions when we get a CEL, correct? No need to even plug in an OBD reader. Not sure if the new gens can do this.

Plus I added a front cam and the Alpine dash cam. Very well integrated.

I drove down to Corpus for the night and took the 4Runner. The Alpine dropped my Tidal feed twice and blacked out on me once but I only had to go back to the main screen and then press CarPlay again. So at least I didn’t have to pull over and restart the car like I used to do when it had the Toyota receiver in it.

It's so weird - that's 3 different HUs "blacking out". Annoying.

Maybe that is what is going on with my Kenwood.
It would be a shame to buy the Alpine and still have the HU rebooting for no reason..

Does the entire HU reboot like when turning on, or does the Carplay disconnect and reconnect?
    My Kenwood does both.

My phone CarPlay just doesn’t connect. Bluetooth is still on. I have to disconnect and reconnect the device and it all works again.

Now that answers the question @texasrho83. That would look good with the 9" or 11". Now the decision is would it be worth it to replace the Pioneer...:monocle:

Not flush enough for my taste, but if it is meant to be adjusted on the fly, then..... I could live with it.

It's not too bad for the 11 inch that he has. I looked at the screen sizes for the Halo 9, Halo 11, and the Pioneer 9 and 10.1. I bet that 9 would fit pretty good if the display lowers enough.

The 9" height is pretty close to what I've got now in the 10" Pioneer. Are they using 11" as viewable measurement or unit measurement?

Thanks, keeps it out of the way and unless you're looking through the windshield, mostly unseen. I may pop off the little square mounting base and see if I can tuck it in even closer, but this works for now.
