If you're a new truck every 2-3 years, why not just lease and get a new one when the lease is over?

I’ve driven two modern GMCs, a 5.3 Trail Boss and a 6.2 Yukon. Spent a week in the Yukon. It would scoot, but its electronics were glitchy and at 19k its interior rattled like mad. The 5.3 TB had 5 miles on the odometer, and also rattled and felt like it was going to fall apart. It also could not get out of its own way.

Not to let final.words be forgotten, did anyone notice just precisely how normal.and integrated his sign of actually was? So.. cordial, almost normal (dare I say integrated, again)?

I've missed being available to.keep up with the recent drama. Kudos to the staff for somehow managing it all and keeping the flurry to a slow stir.

This may sound ignorant of me, but I didn’t know they made a trd pro in DC. I swear I’ve only ever seen “crew max”… and I’m curious now, why would buy a DC over a crewmax? Are they cheaper? Did you not need the space?
I’m not knocking it, I’m just curious.

Guess it depends on where you need the space. DC is 6.5' bed compared to crewmax 5.5' bed. I'd buy a sequoia if I wanted cab space.

Now this is funny................ The K1600 was a total mess reliability wise, at least they have been for the 3 of my friends who have them. Pistons, rings, transmissions, electronics.............. I will say though that this is memory from 2012-2016 time frame.

I remember their heartbreak. I was on an FJR at the time, but now have an 8V GT Norge for my LD Touring.

What's to knock? The DC is miles ahead of the CM for looks and carrying capability

If my kids were still at home and we needed it for family or regular back seat use we would have looked for a CM, but the Gen2-2.5 DC back seat is fine even for full size adults. It only seems small compared to the limo size rear seat of the CM. My back seat is folded up 90% of the time. But ultimately, I like the extra bed space, and looks of the DC over the CM. I think it was a bit cheaper. I got $2K off MSRP ($1K military, $1K Toyota financing) and was out the door for $46K which included the dealer adding heated front and rear seats.

As for rarity, they are. I have never seen another DC TRD PRO in Cement. Several CM, but no DC. I did see a PRO in that dark metallic gray, and tan, but never another cement. I'm sure they are out there but I like the uniqueness.

I am so impressed with this truck. At 96K miles, all I have done is fluids, tires, brake pads, wipers. It is as tight and fresh inside and out as it was new. The AV system is a bit........errr........ well, you know.... I plan an overhaul and swap of the stock unit as an interior project when I retire. I sourced a center stack that I plan to paint satin black to match the rest of the interior and mount the largest modern AV head unit I can find.

If it works better for you, great. Just pay attention to the pinch welds at the front of your bed because that entire extra foot of bed space has no support underneath it.

Well I can tell you from actual experience owning both, the 24 tundra was the biggest POS I’ve ever owned from an initial quality standpoint. The headliner is held up with double sided velcro, and rattled from 5 miles in.
My 24 gmc 3.0 duramax has zero rattles, and I’ve already taken it off-roading numerous times.

Yeah, I was tracking that. The issues are primarily on double cab beds that have any kind of rack, camper, topper, etc and do any kind of wheeling with big full sized aluminum roof-top tent shell that rests entirely on bed rails or puts too much weight on the front of the bed. Crazy that Toyota didn't do a ladder type support for the front of the bed. This helped move me away from the Capri Camper I was planning on putting on the truck, and we went with a trailer instead. If I ever decide I want a heavy topper or camper or will regularly have to load up the front of the bed, I'll address it. I have a buddy who can weld the supports and a cross bar to address the issue.

I also do not like GMC for reasons, however when cruising this website I came across this. Just food for thought. Thought I would just drop this here.

Yeah. My thought when I was shopping is, 6.5’ is still a short bed, and with only one less foot of bed space, I have yet to find a single thing I can’t haul in it. It’s not like I do drywall or frame houses for a living. Plus I have about as much climate controlled storage as an SUV, which I need for hauling gear for my job.

I’m still amazed at how useful the crewmax/5.5’ bed is in a very wide variety of situations.

You yourself said a few posts ago that the trade-in value was near the price of the new truck? How they can't afford one if they own most part of the cash needed to buy one?

On the 1-2 years old ones yes.. and their depreciation is minimal compared to domestics. Truck prices have climbed considerably in the last couple years, so trade in or resale on something 3+ years old isn’t going be as close to new. Now a 22 going up to a 25, that will have a small but reasonable gap.

and also I’m talking specifically about TRD PRO. Tundras in general hold their value exceptionally well. But the pro runner, sequoia, and tundra hold their value even more because the limited production compared to the other trims

Has anyone made the jump to a 250 or 2500 and if considering would you go Ram, Ford, or Chevy/GMC if moving up to a bigger truck? More interested in a diesel F250 6.7 powerstroke or the Ram Cummins inline 6 diesel than the gas options.

    Thoughts and comments appreciated!

If I was going to a heavy duty, it would be a GM. Just don't trust a Ram and the death wobble in the Super Duty scares me.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    agreed.

we have all 3 here at the warehouse & the GM behaves the best.

...and I hate GM (the company) with every fiber of my being.

Do not buy a GM or a ford. I tow both of them all the time. Lots of GM’s barely any miles on them with electrical issues. I have had many fords that have had catastrophic failures. Except my f550’s with the 7.3 gas. Those were good trucks! Never had an issue with any of the Rams. I’ve had them as rollback and wrecker tow trucks as well as several half tons and 3/4 ton and 1 ton pick ups.
The 6.4 hemi always seemed a little under powered but that was with the weight of a tow truck. You should consider looking into the latest power wagon with the 6.4 and an 8 speed. Especially if you live in a cold climate or where there is a big cost difference in fuel.
Nothing pulls like a 6.7 Cummins if you are towing heavy. I have a 6.7 in my freightliner rollback and wrecker. Never hauled or pulled something and felt a need for more power.
Pulled this guy off the interstate the other day.

and a pic of my tundra… cuz it looks cool!
