I didnt think i could possibly keep my DC for much longer, but then we finished with the child seats and the back got a lot bigger! Now once you have another kid that dog is gonna need a shell

 

Curious would any of you go buy a new tundra today knowing what you know now?

Yes. All makes can have issues. I have far more trust in Toyota to treat me right than the other manufacturers.

This exact reason for having it. Although I admit the more I drive it for day-to-day use the more I like it!

I don’t believe I was talking trash at all. I was genuinely curious if folks would still buy one. I’m a die hard Toyota fan and always have been. I have the Chevy I do now to haul my camper. Otherwise I would be in a Toyota.

 

Oh yeah I have 3 camping trips coming up, and will be going over Chambers and Wolf Creek Pass on 2 of the trips, towing just under 5k trailer plus gear. Looking forward to it. These trucks love to work.

 

Guess us Gen3 owners are sensitive given all the recent posts. Guess if a person shows Chevy their info and posts 'curious if any of you would go buy a new tundra today knowing what you know?' a person might think there may be another motivitation. Especially considering there is no indication in the persons info they own(ed), or drive a Tundra.

To answer your question. Yes I would buy another Tundra.

 

That was before I got a Tundra, but if we ever have a chance to do something like that again I would participate if I was available. Sounds super fun

 

Give me time to get my external cooler mod locked in stone and I will be happy to assist. Headed over Cottonwood Pass in a few weeks. If I don't like the results of the Derale 13402 I
will be looking to double the BTU cooling rating on the next install. My tow is light - a 2000 lb dry weight pop-up. Just DM me.

 

I put a Magnuson SC in my Gen3 AT V6 3.5L Tacoma. It has plenty of power - blows up I70 through the Tunnel with ease pulling the camper. Only problem is the frame is too small for pulling the camper - thus the Tundra. Running Yotawerx Stryker Tune.

Yes. I bought one 28 days ago.

I had been watching the thread on turbo failures (last post over a year ago?) and then the one on bearing failure (that one is admittedly hot, lol) since months after the ‘22 was out. The only difference now is Toyota has admitted there is a problem and is taking responsibility for the fix.

In my case I just don’t trust the big three and the Tacoma isn’t enough truck anymore.

 

I have towed my Yamaha RMAX the past 2 weekends up North here in AZ to get some cooler weather and enjoy ripping through the pines, responsibly of course. No issues thus far with almost 9K on the clock. I'm not worried at all. If it dies, it dies, Toyota will fix it. My problem appeared after last weekend's tow when both of my trailer tires were discovered to have been separated after 3 years of use. The trailer has new shoes now and, like my truck, is ready for the next adventure. I plan on buying a travel trailer in the next few weeks, with a weight around 7K, and I'm not worried at all. Camping here we come!

 

Just got back from a 4500 mile round trip from Ohio to Montana. Was a little nervous starting it a week after the recall was announced but truck did awesome. Tows so much better than my Gen 2 did.

 

Nice, what a cool trip! Did you do anything to the truck for towing or is it all stock?

 

Nothing extra to the truck except a WDH.

 

How were the temps on your trans while towing?

 

Hey, that's my truck! I tow heavy and it handles great.

 

I do not have a temp guage for the transmission. I did not get any warning lights for temps. Went up and down a lot of steep grades over the two week trip and never felt like the truck was struggling at any point.
