98F here today. I know that’s a walk in the park for some of you but it’s definitely the middle of a heatwave for us.

It’s 98F on the thermometer, although it’s dropped to 96F in the last hour.

@455h0le_dachshund or @Mr.bee which of you is it that wants these but in another color? If this was closer, I'd buy them just for the hell of it. That's a killer price even if tires are rotten.

When I was a yung'un Mom would say the car was happiest at 75.
I think the last time I saw posted 80 mph was in 2001 in OK. Just before TX gave me a handwritten $100 welcome letter. Sumbeaches.
Northeast, I think highest posted is 65 mph.

One forgets there's still 80 zones out there when one becomes region cuffed. I really need to go gypsy in 2025.

Y’all think my 06 Dc is cool enough to park with the cars at cars and coffee this weekend? Not overly modified but there’s not shortage of bone stock 2018 mustangs there so maybe someone will like it?

So this is my first vehicle to do my own oil changes on and I’m only on my second round, but I’ve run into an issue both times. I keep overfilling by a bit, then having to drain fresh oil out to get it between the dots on the dipstick. Feel like an idiot. Is there a precise way to do this so you land at the right amount each time? I feel like using the marks on the flimsy oil bottle is a fools errand. Also, is it so bad to run it a little overfull on oil?

I've run 5k with a full 7 qts. It didnt hurt anything. But i've been running 6.5 & using the extra 1/2 qt every other oil change. About 100 miles before i change it, i add a dallop of MMO.

Our trucks take 6.6qts. One big bottle is 5. You then get 2 smaller ones. Which are 1 qt each. Dump one small one and use half the other one.

sorry if I explained it like I would to a child, but it's a pretty simple process. Unless you didn't know the actual amount of oil that went in or are terrible at math.....

Are you starting the truck for like ten seconds before turning it off and checking the oil level?

Let it sit a good while before checking the level. A little bit over the line isn't going to hurt anything. Now don't go puttin' 2 extra quarts initt though. :D

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
Friend of mine worked for a steel bumper manufacturer here in MI.
They lost two men in a giant press one day..... He was there to see the horrific aftermath:eek:. "American Bumper" in Ionia MI. In the 90s I think it was?

    Anybody want/need some rear 5100's?

I'm thinking about moving the rear shock mounts and doing a new upper crossmember. If im going through that trouble I would like to go to a dual eye shock vs our stock eye/stem arrangement.
