    Hey guys,

I have a 2008 Tundra 5.7L that i recently purchased with 155k. The truck was running great and I decided to have Yotatune flash and tune the vehicle.

Now I didn't know that I had a SAIS Gen 1 Bypass already installed on the vehicle. Part of the tuning process involved them flashing the vehicles software to the latest version before applying the tune.

This is where things go downhill. It looks like my Gen 1 SAIS isn't playing nicely with the new software. I called Hewitt and they advised me to upgrade to a Gen 2 kit.

Considering the currency exchange between the US and Canada that's going to cost me about $750. I was reading some chats about people being able to code out their SAIS with a tune, more specifically a DAP tune.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Right now the truck is running great however I have multiple dash lights on and if a tune is more cost effective then I would want to know if I can have the SAIS tuned out and not bother with another bypass kit.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

It’s a kit that keeps the SAIS from functioning which keeps it from failing. The SAIS is a thorn in the sides of many Tundra owners. There is a 30+ page thread on the subject on this forum
