It's messed up. I packaged it well because I know the mail up there sucks. I expected it to at least come back.

It’s like the First Genners (who will just about hunt your ass down), I steer clear unless I have something beneficial to add or they are actually talking shit and fortunately most of those guys are.

I bought the 2nd gen Tundra when it first came out. I remember how upset I was that one of the interior lights didn’t work when I got home and when I called the salesman he said to just bring it in and they’d change the bulb. Turns out it wasn’t that easy and the had to replace the whole thing. When the put the replacement trim in, it never looked right to me and it upset the shit out of me because I had spent like $30k or whatever it was on this new truck.

Fast forward to the 3rd Gens and how much they cost and these stupid problems they are having. I’m 100% positive that Toyota will do right and get it figured out but at the same time, I wouldn’t want people jumping in and telling me what an ass I am for buying this vehicle.

On the flip side, I also wouldn’t get on a forum and bitch about how much money I spent on a vehicle and how I traded it in for a loss and then get red-assed because people are calling me out.

So basically, you’ve got to read the room and if they seem extra sensitive, just swing by here and post your smart ass reply. We’ll most likely appreciate it.

    :fistbump:

Agreed. We sent out wedding reception invitations a couple months ago and I think a lot of them got lost in the mail. Not the worst thing in this case, fewer mouths for me to feed lol

Yeah when dealing with a bunch of upset babies it's never a good idea to rub their face in their woes. I usually only make my smart ass comments where I know they will be received. It's why I stay here and the tundra's live thread mostly.

Edit: referring to the gen 3 threads in general for context.

Totally get the question....and it's a good one.

Answering questions is totally fine. The comments "3rd gen are junk, hope your motor doesn't blow, glad I didn't buy a 3rd gen...etc" is the problem.

    Here is a great example of a fucker'd thread. 3rd Gen>trade in>pistol caliber>cancer>insults>close

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/traded-mine-in.144132/page-3

This happened in the time it took for this guy to drive home.

Was what @TRDFerguson said the other day any different than what we have been seeing? No. Was it any worse than normal? No. Do I ever see him buying a 3rd Gen? No. Was he the "example" since he's a big boy and couldn't care less...yep. There will be more I'm sure without the ban. One day the member will just not be able to post in the 3rd Gen section. The reason for the ban was to get attention...and it worked. I hope he understands it wasn't personal.

The same goes for 3rd gens. I popped one yesterday. Totally understand why tempers are high...but some are pushing the limits.

That is fair except anyone should be able to state a fact that they are glad they did not buy something. It is just one person’s opinion and they are entitled I would think. Again, just me trying to understand.

I have owned every generation Tundra except Gen 3 and most likely the last pickup I will buy so I should be allowed in every section. I have way too much $$ into my truck and I will never get it back. If I thought I could I would be selling now since I lost my job.

You can say it here but prefer that you don't in someone else's boohoo thread. It just causes way too many reports and problems. Is that your problem? No...but it helps us out. So we are asking for a bit of help from you long standing seasoned members.

Sorry about the job. Hopefully you find a replacement and a fat increase in pay. Aren't you building a house in SW CO?
See, that's not hard to do. I don't know you, and it seems some people would say "sucks to be you" or worse. Showing a little compassion to someone else misfortune is easy to do...and the right thing to do. It doesn't make me weak...just not a total asshole. :D

EDIT: Oh and yes, I am in the middle of a build. It is already funded with the current home that is selling and everything is started to gain momentum

Can we just delete the 3rd gen threads and move on. All the good crew that have them are in the clubhouse anyway

It's just the same questions over and over with no change in sight. The best resource is Toyota for these questions and support. Believe me...we aren't covering the cost or inspecting the motors.

Jokes aside - all our crew that have a new generation Tundra don’t seem to have any issues with them. Well maybe the price but they got over that hurdle

Not trying to get @TaquitoBandito in trouble, but if he did some AI whispering and made an avatar of a grenade being dropped into a twin-turbo would I be able to use it? Technically I’m not posting anything :duel:
