Yeah... there were a few editions (I guess it was more of a documentary than a 'movie'), but that one event flat pissed me TF off

It wasn't dining, it was torture; it wasn't we'll kill something then it eat; it was let's terrorize something as we play fiddle fuck games while 'killing' it, and not even allow it to escape, defend itself or even die w/dignity... all for the sake of human entertainment

I am far from perfect and have made my share of mistakes in my life, but this view of humanity left me scarred...

We were talking about bears the other day; take every single one of those jackasses; put them in a 100'x100' fenced area w/no chance of escape (and only the weapons they were born with), a couple of cubs and a momma bear; game on MF'rs... and let's see how funny that shit is.
I'd pay big money to watch that shit live...

IDK. I've never had rattlesnake. Gator tail tastes the same, though, so it's not a stretch to think snek is just as delicious.

 

I am with you there, a distinct smell that I cannot describe but it is an instant turn off. Been there done that brother and walk away as soon as I smell it

 

Rattlesnake is a very weird meat. It doesn't really have any taste. You can tell you're eating meat, but your tastebuds are not engaged. It's just strange. Between that and it having a ton of bones, it's more work than it's worth, except for the novelty of having eaten it. It takes on flavors well - fried cajun rattlesnake is tasty - but having it with the grandkids just so they'll have the experience is probably the only times I'm going to eat it again.

 

I'm not opposed to eating snake, but I'm not seeking out the experience either. Most reptiles just don't seem all that appetizing.

 

My uncle's ranch is an hour or so north of Abilene, squarely in western diamondback habitat. Out there the experience seeks you out...

I haven't been impressed the couple of times I've had gator. It's kinda greasy and doesn't really taste all that great. I'd try iguana given the chance, but I'm probably a no on turtle. I couldn't tell you why one and not the other - maybe I just think turtles are a nasty animal. Not sure what other reptiles one might make a meal of.
