I do pushups in my cubicle at work every hour. Im not really a gym type of guy but getting some excercise in my cubicle has been a good way to build some muscle. I also run about 2 miles everyday before work.

Dang. You should run some seafoam through that thing before every oil change. Looks like someone didn't always chang the oil on time...

I've been going to the gym before work for 8 years now. Typically 4 days/week. I feel so much better after a workout. The weeks I can't go, it really messes with my mental health.

Yeah, I sea foamed the shit out of it before the first oil change knowing it had a sketchy past. I'm going to run a round of BG EPR oil flush that @The Black Mamba recommends. The drivers side head is hella nasty with sludge. It is a Toyota though, she would have done another 100k without an oil change.

Damn, look about like mine. What'd the heads look like, and how'd you get them so clean? You have a partswasher?

I think you'll regret that Reinz gasket, I'm eager to see. I normally don't trust their stuff, but I'm an asshole.

Dawn power wash/HD oven cleaner/green scotchbrite and the power washer. Oven cleaner is not recommended for aluminum, but I've never had and issue. Just don't let it dry on the surface.

I'm actually impressed with the quality of that set. Time will tell if it goes into the hall of shame.

I hear that last part. I haven't had as much time as I used to, and definitely find myself struggling in different ways if I don't have any activity in my day. I've been doing the lunch time thing 5 days a week and it's been great. I can interact and help with our son in the morning and plenty of time in the afternoon for family (and maybe truck stuff).

I go back and forth between old chrome look and painted, but overall everytime i see a newer model im like " i want to paint mirror, get rid of chtone"

Front end looks great. Now im googling 02 limited bumpers lol. Must show restaint.

And if I miss two weeks of exercise i get depressed like a old widow.

Today, i greased all zirks, noticed yoke zirk seamed to let grease out on its own accord. And adjusted drum star wheels. What do u guys think about this

Back drivers side seamed perfect, passenger side drum needed 3-4 clicks to start dragging same as drivers ( performed per bentley manual. And our brake forum) i left them both at just barely dragging , but still easy to spin, kinda just evenrd up drag noise on both sides by adjusting pass star wheel, i did not due any backing off as I want to test first.

    Anyone have similiar experience?

Thanks, im happy but would not recomend to anyone. I ripped my right thumb nail 70% off, gave myself a black right eye and knees feel like a seasoned women of the night. For under $500 invested , I could not help myself. Truck feels way more capable and no more shifting down to 1st at 50mph

After the layoff, I’ve spent every morning with the kids hiking, from roughly 9am-1pm and i have about zero minutes to work on the truck after that. Sucks because i have a lot of shit i could be doing on it!! But honestly i haven’t felt this healthy in a long time, and our oldest REALLY needed the connection to stabilize, it’s been a real godsend. I’m super grateful for the time, the truck can wait!

Yea. Your right. I gotta do my mirrors and ditch trim, front bumper will prob make myself , might try to remove all the chrome. I know someone said wheel arches come off with no body fill required but ill have to look into it.

That's awesome this worked out for you.

Learned can also usually pay insurance a small fee they expect to get from wrecking yard or auction to keep it. Then can take what you want and/or sell it (at least what you don't want) usually at a profit ... or rebuild it but will have a marked title.

That rack looks great! And wow, isn't cheap.

Are you still running that much while trying to hit the lift PR? That would be an extra challenge as those activities likely work a bit against each other?

With the rear brakes? Think starting with the bellcranks, then the pad adjustment using the star wheels and confirming with the parking brake is the order IIRC. There is actually a measurement that takes like a 12" caliper to check the mm gap between the pads and drum per FSM IIRC. But once everything is dialed, find to adjust later can usually just crank the star wheels until have drag and parking brake can verify its working. Of course there's the proportioning valve to consider too especially if lifted.

Yea man, so its hard to explain. The mechanic in me sais i need all new shit around bell crank ( i live in md=Rust) and *I felt I could fix it by minimally adjusting at e brade pedal or center part of frame w adjusting muts, bell cranks look right when comparing to bentley manual adjustment routine, what through me off is how back left seemed perfectly adjusted ( i mean kinda makes since, everything hardware wise runs down that side of frame, but my parking brake cable running to passenger side bellcrank seems overly floppy. I took it off and adjusted bell cranks per fsm but the ebrake vable itself on passenger side just looks too loose ( but is perfectly tight w ebrake on)...

So , I just 3-4 clicks on passenger side drum, got out hit brake pedal a few times and it had light drag as described in FSM. I *did not back it off any. And honestly i just drove it 3 miles and i dont know if its in my head but it feels much better. Firmer pedal etc. But I also had Bout 200 pounds of crap right over rear axle. Im convinced the lpsv is junk. The few times ive gotten near 75%80% max payload it sends to much to rear and quickly overwhelms drums/bad brake pulsing. I think I will eventally do away w lspv.

How much slack do u guys have in your pass side e brake cable with e brake off? Mines flacid af.

Do you mean the little cable between the bellcrank and actuator inside the drum cavity, like here?

For some reason, I’m running well right now. Who knows how long that lasts. It’s ebbed and flowed through the past 3 decades, plenty of down years and a few up ones. I’m not going to touch any lifetime PR’s but as I turn 50 at the end of the year, I can set some decent numbers in the old man category if I keep it together. I have a $50/month online coach dishing out the workouts and it’s just flowing for the time being.

And, yeah, I didn’t want to drop $1k on the rack, as much as I like it after using it for months in my neighbor’s garage. He hooked me up, though I did help him by installing a timer and contactor for his ceiling heaters and I also helped him swap in the new racks and dropped off the 2nd old rack at its new home.

Tundra w 8’ bed always makes me smile, carries weight racks like a champ.
