Press the “lock” button three times, but the third time hold the button down until the hazard lights flash. The turn indicator lights (if equipped) will flash as well.

For me, remote start has been in of those things I thought was BS that I would never use and I use all the time. Kind of like 3D view or thinking power windows were excessive.

I don’t use remote start that often but I check to make sure the truck is locked, I check to see if I have enough gas when I’m on a late flight home, the insurance agent wants a vin, etc. Remote start itself, maybe 10x/ year.

One nice thing about their remote start, you can use the OEM fob instead of getting stuck with a second fob...

Not sure how good the range is on the oem fob, never tried it, but the 2-way fob they provide is awesome.

Question about the additional 2 way fob. Is that something you could just leave in your house to start in the mornings and then just carry the Toyota fob during the day?

For you guys that have the accessorides kit, I see that you can use the OEM fob and it doesn’t turn off when you open the door, but when you press the brake pedal to get into drive will it shut off then?

I’m seriously looking at this kit but want something that I can start remotely, get in the truck and go without it cutting off anywhere in that process. Also want to make sure it won’t throw any codes when I install.

One kit on Amazon from another company states it will allow you to open the door with it running but when you press the breaker pedal to get into gear, it kills the engine.

    None at this point.
LOL...had the key Fob remote start in my Tacoma years back.It was a Standard Transmission.
The Guy flat out warned me that it could be a bit risky putting it in a standard.
I told him it was no big deal because I always put it in neutral and put on the handbrake.
    Until one day I didnt....
Went into the grocery to buy some beer and ice for the park.
Hit the remote start and it was off to the races since the Damn thing would keep trying to start if it didnt the first time.
I caught up to it right before it went into a big ditch on the edge of the parking lot.
People were standing there gawking as they watched my Truck drive away with no one in it and Me chasing it down.

Thanks for the info, that's probably the direction I will go when my 1 year runs out.
