So I have a 2005 tundra and trying to get a display radio for my tundra double cab. My friend is selling this one from his 2013 tundra dirt cheap but I wonder will the display/radio fit in my radio unit space for my 2005Screenshot_20240613-133333(1).png Screenshot_20240613-133420(1)~2.png Screenshot_20240613-133333(1).png

If you can peel It out of that trim panel I bet you could get it to fit. Toyota radios don’t sound that great though. Aftermarket radios can be had pretty cheap too and sound quality is greatly improved.

Depends. Pioneer made some of Toyota's radios, and those are actually pretty solid heads. Harmon/HK made the JBL heads, also pretty solid heads.

With a bunch of frequency attenuation (to protect the low end stock speakers) and poor sound shaping compared to even some lower end aftermarket units.
But if one wants to stay OEM, give it a go.

I actually like the JBL sound system my 05 came with. But right speaker just went out and radio knob goes all over the place so looking to putting some money into the sound system also but not to expensive

Probably not. Even if the connector is theoretically the same, you may need to re-pin things.

No they are not and no, it's not a direct fit nor worth it. Over the years I have installed various head units in my old 1st gen and a couple in my 2.5 Gen. Head to Crutchfield and research your options. You will find many from slightly below that $100 on up. You will also find wire harnesses and adaptors to make the job much easier. You can buy from any site you like, but Crutchfield is solid and a great research source.

If it's double din size it should fit with some modifications perhaps. With use of stereo and truck side wire harnesses and plugs available from likes of Metra Scosche and others a plug n play harness could be fabbed to adapt the newer stereo to your first Gen.
