Hello all. I'm trying to find a new housing for my dad's truck and I found one possibly in good condition. But the guy bough the axle to use in an off road builder and doesn't know what exact type of Toyota it came out of. I see measurements but they have wms on it which I understand. But I need just to the end of the housing since that is what he is selling. Can anyone get me this number? The truck is in IL and I'm in TN and my dad can no longer drive or help get me a measurement from his truck. Thabk you in advance.

If your dad's truck has the optional ABS, make sure this housing you're looking at has the ABS ports (holes for the ABS sensors). They're located at the top of the tubes, right next to the axle tube end flange.

Are you sure its an access cab and not a double cab?
Can you get a picture from the person of the bedside to see which fender flares it has? The trucks with the wide fender flares have the wider axle.

    I mean I could.

@Kalannar97 I have my old 3.961 open diff with ABS option. It will need axle seals, but other than that it's solid, fresh diff oil, drain plug magnet was bare as fuck. Has maybe 1200 miles on the fluid, drums were done 3 years ago, have about 9000 on them, will need new shoes, axle fluid got in the drums. Oh and new ABS speed rings in 20. Housing and axle shafts had 2169xx when swapped. Surface patina no real rust

    Make me an offer

I have a 2000 Access Cab, I can measure the axle. What precise measurement do you want?

The rust on that axle in the pic looks horrible. Personally, I'd pass on that. Might want to check car-parts.com for a local salvage yard.

Let me clarify. The picture I posted was the one of my dad's truck that I need to replace. I was asking if anyone could tell if it had ABS. The one I'm looking at buying is really clean. But it is just the axle housing and he didn't know what Toyota it came from as he was just building an off-road vehicle but has no changed his mind about doing it.

Here is a picture of the axle I'm looking to buy. That should show the measurement I need. It also comes with thegeara as well.

He messaged me back and said it was 57" from flange to flange on the axle housing.

Nope. My shock mounts are inboard of the spring perches.

I know that particular axle isn't going to work for your dad's truck, but I measured the axle on my 2000 Access Cab for future reference: Flange to flange is a hard measurement to get with axle on the truck, but the backing plates seem to be on about the same plane as the inside of the flange. So I measured from the inside of both backing plates, and it's 58 5/8".
