Bilstein Shocks Upgrade

I have been passively considering some mods and came across this. To me this looks like it is a good price, though I am not sure.

Is this price comparable to buying something such as this from other vendors? or is it better? worse?

If you know of a better price elsewhere please let me know.

Perhaps I am just trying to justify the purchase... I mean I don't REALLY need upgraded shocks or do I?

Do you have any pictures of the end result. Also I was planning on running K02s as well. What size did you go with?

5100 Bilstien shocks are legit. I put a set on my 72 Chev P/U and really like the ride.

 

Do you figure that size of tire would have fit on the truck stock without rubbing. I have the front fender well removed for the Brush guard I have installed and according to the, "Largest tires that fit" thread, 285/65/18 would fit a stock truck.

Just not sure it would fit mine... The brush guard made the front end around .75 inches lower

 

I have plenty of room with +25 wheel offset. Only had to remove front small mud flaps due to rubbing. I would think going with Bilsteins set at 2.5” would give you ample room.

My buddy and I installed them within 4 hours on my 2012 Crew Max Rock Warrior. If you have a coil spring compressor, jack stands and some basic tools then you wont have any problems installing them. We put them on the highest setting so I could squeeze BFG 35X12.5 All Terrain K02.

Before installing the new tires, I took off the small mud flaps (connected on the back of the front bumper) for more tire clearance. Then bending or pushing the inner fender (connected on the back of the front bumper) to get a little more tire clearance.

I have always bought BFG All Terrain tires for my trucks in the past and I know that BFG usually round up their tire size numbers. For example, my tires say 35X12.5 but if I measured them with a measuring tape then I will get something like 34X12, give or take. So after installing the 5100 bilstien shocks with the highest setting, removed the front bumper mud flaps, and pushed the inner fenders out, the tires fit perfectly. The only time my tires rub is when I go off roading or hit a big bump while turning sharply. The tires don't touch the fenders, just the front inner fenders.

Also keep in mind that I used the stock Rock Warrior edition rims during all of this. Your rims might or might not work depending on the off set. That type of stuff is out of my knowledge, I totally gambled on if it would work or not and it did. The ride didn't really change but make sure you take your truck to a shop after installing the new shocks, the camber will be all out of wack and needs to be adjusted. Some shops will not work on it due to insurance reasons but some will work on it with an extra fee.

Yeah I put 5100s on my crew max 08 about 2 months ago and they are great .....I put front at highest setting and also bought the sway bar from TRD and put it on and maDE big difference.......now I just ordered Bam muffler and can't wait to put that on
